Sant Samagam of Maharashtra begins with a colourful procession
Kharghar echoes
with slogans of bridging humanity

NAVI MUMBAI: Kharghar in Navi Mumbai
echoed with slogans of Bridging Humanity – Piece by Peace, World Without Walls
during a colourful procession which marked the beginning of the 49th Annual
Nirankari Sant Samagam of Maharashtra today. The procession started from Shilp
Chowk in Kharghar and concluded at the venue of the 3-day Samagam, CIDCO
Grounds, near Central Park.
Clad in their traditional costumes, thousands of
devotees of the Sant Nirankari Mission from various parts of Maharashtra and
elsewhere in the country came dancing, singing and raising slogans with banners
and placards in their hands and marched past from the front of His Holiness
Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj seated in an open flower-bedecked
vehicle. They welcomed and expressed their gratitude to His Holiness for the
spiritual enlightenment he bestowed on them and showed to them the path of
love, peace, tolerance, unity and brotherhood.
Earlier on his arrival His Holiness was greeted with
garlands by Shri Janardan Patil, Zonal Incharge of Sant Nirankari Mandal,
Nashik and Shri Indrapal Nagpal, Zonal Incharges of Sant Nirankari Mandal,
Solapur.
The devotees presented folk dances of Maharashtra and
other parts of the country such as Dindi, Lazium, Adivasi dances etc. to
emphasize the theme of unity in diversity. They also carried placards with
slogans:
‘World Without Walls,
‘Bridging Humanity – Piece by Peace’
‘Peace not Pieces, Let’s Work for It’
‘If we love human being, we love God’,
‘Universal Brotherhood’.
Towards the end His Holiness also joined the
procession with his vehicle driving towards the venue of the Samagam. As soon
as they reached the main gate, they released balloons as a symbol of love,
beauty and prosperity.
