Simran
Simran is an Indian Comedy-drama
film directed by Hansal Mehta which features Kangana Ranaut in the lead role. The
movie is loosely based on the life of Sandeep Kaur, an NRI in the United States
who has been convicted of four bank robberies.
A Gujarati housekeeping lady in the
US allows ambition to get the better of her & gets involved in a world of
crime. Simran is a racy, fun film with Kangana Ranaut playing the titular role.
Simran, a young Gujarati girl, who works as a housekeeper in the US, turns into
a kleptomaniac and alcoholic after she becomes addicted to gambling. The
National Award winner does a great job as a self-destructive rebel. She makes
robbing banks look like child’s play and is reckless at a casino, but Kangana
Ranaut manages to inject a degree of adorability in Praful Patel, the flawed
protagonist in her latest film, Simran. Thus Simran is the tale of a
30-year-old Gujarati woman, a divorcee who lives with her conservative parents
in the state of Georgia, going rogue. Patel, who leads a pretty uneventful life
as housekeeper in a fancy hotel, turns into an amateur criminal. The
transformation is swift and uneven and therefore, unbelievable. One day she’s
looking at buying herself an apartment and is hoping that her home loan would
come through and the next she’s swatting off bestial loan sharks who snort
cocaine and pummel debtors to the ground. The problem is that dating a wrong
guy or not able to shed off those extra kilos aren’t as grave a problem as
looting a bank to settle debts gathered after a stupid night of gambling. But
credit has to be given to Ranaut for injecting verve into a character whose
rebellion seems displaced. Her antics — even if ridiculous — make you smile
because Ranaut is a skilled actor. The scene in which she tries to flirt with
an American is pure gold.
The film has Kangana Ranaut as
Simran, Mark Justice, Soham Shah, Hiten Kumar, Esha Tewari Pande as Salma, Manu
Narayan, Aneesha Joshi, Rupinder Nagra and Usha Jerajani.
The music of the film have been
composed by Sachin-Jigar while the lyrics have been penned by Priya Saraiya and
Vayu. The film has songs like "Lagdi Hai Thaai", "Pinjra Tod
Ke", "Meet", "Majaa Ni Life", "Simran", "Baras
Ja", "Single Rehne De" and "Meet (Female Version)".

Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (also
referred to as Terminator 2 or T2) is a 1991 American science-fiction action
film co-written, produced and directed by James Cameron. The film stars Arnold
Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, and Robert Patrick, with Edward Furlong also in
its principal cast as John Connor. It is the sequel to the 1984 film The
Terminator, and the second installment in the Terminator franchise. Terminator
2 follows Sarah Connor (Hamilton) and her ten-year-old son John (Furlong) as
they are pursued by a new, more advanced Terminator, the liquid metal,
shapeshifting T-1000 (Patrick), sent back in time to kill John Connor and
prevent him from becoming the leader of the human resistance. A second, less
advanced Terminator (Schwarzenegger) is also sent back in time to protect John.
In a future, war-ravaged Los
Angeles in which the machines have taken over the earth, a faction of human
rebels led by an adult John Connor do battle with the cyborgs. Two
"intelligent machines" have been dispatched to the past, one -- a
replica of the Terminator model T-800 which dominated the original film -- to
protect the young Connor, the other -- a shape-shifting metallic T-1000 -- to
kill him.
The film has Arnold Schwarzenegger
as The Terminator / T-800 (Model 101): An android, built as a synthetic
organism composed of living tissue over a titanium "hyperalloy"
endoskeleton, reprogrammed and sent back in time to protect John Connor,
becoming his surrogate father in the process. Edward Furlong as John Connor: The
ten-year-old son of Sarah, given survival training from a young age, but taken
into foster care after his mother is institutionalized. Linda Hamilton as Sarah
Connor: Mother of John, the future leader of the Resistance in the war against
Skynet. Robert Patrick as the T-1000: An advanced shapeshifting prototypical
Terminator composed of liquid metal sent back in time to assassinate John. Joe
Morton as Miles Bennett Dyson: Director of special projects at Cyberdyne and a
destined creator of Skynet. Earl Boen as Dr. Peter Silberman: Sarah's
psychiatrist, skeptical of her prophecies of machines destroying humanity. Boen
is also reprising his character from the 1984 film. The cast was rounded out
with Jenette Goldstein and Xander Berkeley, who portray John's foster parents,
Janelle and Todd Voight. S. Epatha Merkerson plays Tarissa Dyson, the wife of
Miles Dyson. Cástulo Guerra plays Sarah's friend, Enrique Salceda, who provides
her with weapons. Danny Cooksey plays Tim, John's friend. Michael Biehn
returned to the series as Kyle Reese, a soldier from 2029, in a short
appearance in Sarah's dream. Biehn's scene was not featured in the theatrical
release of the film, but it was restored in extended versions of the film.
Hamilton's then-twenty-month-old son Dalton plays her on-screen son in a dream
sequence set in a playground. Sven-Ole Thorsen played a security guard when
John is at the Galleria with his friend Tim. DeVaughn Nixon played Danny Dyson,
the son of Miles and Tarissa Dyson.
