Senior actress Usha Nadkarni presented with Life Achievement Award

NAVI MUMBAI: On the occasion of World Women’s Day, Ashokpushp had
organized an event to distribute Women Empowerment Awards. The event took place
on Friday 9 March 2018 at Vishnudas Bhave Auditorium. Senior Actress who acts
in both Hindi and Marathi films, Usha Nadkarni, was conferred upon the Lifetime
Achievement Award. The women who
excelled in other fields were also awarded and felicitated. These women include
‘Majhya Navryachi Bayko’ fame actress Shweta Mehendale, young singer Shubhangi
Kedar, deputy police inspector Rani Kale, fish exporter Gunabai Sutar, Minakshi
Sharma, Nazneen Shaikh, Jyoti Soni and Sneha Deshpande.
The organizer of this event Umesh
Chowdhary said, “These awards were given to women who excelled in various
fields. This is to provide women more encouragement to pursue challenging jobs.
Ashokpushp has been organizing such events since last seven years.”
Present for this event were actor
Surhad Vardekar, actor Sangram Samel, actress Lejan Kelimoha, actress Riddima
Pai, director Raju Parsekar, producer Shridhar Chari, Gauri Gujar, music director
Swarup Bhalwankar, Sanjiv Kumar, Sunita Ghaitadak, Mohini Shabade, Bindiya Sen,
Anjali Varma, Adarsh Shrivastav, Sonia Mayer, Namita Mishra and others.
On this occasion, cultural events
were held. A dance was performed in the memory of Late Shridevi by the students
of Suraj Dance Academy. Traditional dance was performed by Durgesh Rajpur,
Feroz Shaikh, Laiba Mayer’s Imorji Band and Yashaswini Kalamanch.
In her speech, the award winner
Usha Nadkarni said, “I am still 16 years old. I want to do still more
contribution. I am overwhelmed by the love and affection shown by the audience
here and also for having received this prestigious award. I will pursue acting
throughout my life.”
