Home Minister defends his party
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had visited J&K after the Home
Ministry announced suspension of operations on May 16 on the occasion of
Ramzan. As his vehicle passed on the road in Srinagar, he waved at people and
they responded with great enthusiasm. This was not the case earlier. Whenever a
leader from the Centre visited, there used to be a shutdown. This time there
was none. It has generated goodwill.
Singh said that his government did not discriminate on the basis of
religion but a terrorist doesn’t have religion or doesn’t belong to any caste
or creed. While infiltration
continues, cross-border firing has gone down a bit. Pakistan should stop this. Ceasefire
violations are happening.
If Pakistan wants we should start a dialogue. They should stop terrorism
that emanates from its soil. India took several initiatives. The Prime Minister
broke all protocols and went to Pakistan to attend a wedding function (then
Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif’s granddaughter’s wedding).
Another thing is the refugees deserve support from progressive
democracies like ours as they are deprived of means and power to fight their
cause. Discriminating refugees on race and religion is against human values. It
is difficult to build a prosperous India unless we become literate on
constitutional values of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity. Home
Ministry has a great role to play in the national unity and integration leading
to peaceful life conditions of the citizens.
Now that elections are approaching BJP has started appeasing the
minorities. With the same breath, Congress is appeasing minorities.
Basically what both do is split people based on religion and make hay. Is it
fair??? Because all that matters for them is numbers. And we the common people
stand isolated with all love lost between us and no development to boast of.
But there is still hope. The team spirit of India shall work out
solutions to impinging problems challenging our stability. People are well
aware of clear options. Lies and propaganda will not sustain, we are marching
towards the right path. One’s concern relate to quota which is going on
unceasingly, unflinchingly without any retrospection, the meritorious of
general category who are below poverty line lose their platforms, which
unjustifiably go to thoroughly deprived people who have annual income of a
whopping 8 lakh, which is anomalous, the credit goes to vote bank politics past
70 years.
Lastly ban should be applied to all religious groups that directly or
indirectly preach hatred and violence against other Faiths. Religious/caste
politics too should be banned by EC.
