Godzilla

Godzilla is a 2014 American science fiction monster film featuring the Japanese film monster of the same name in a reboot of the Godzilla film franchise. The film retells the origins of Godzilla in contemporary times as a "terrifying force of nature", depicted in a style faithful to the Toho series of Godzilla films. The film is directed by Gareth Edwards, written by Max Borenstein and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, David Strathairn, and Bryan Cranston. The film is a co-production between Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures, with participation by Toho. It is the second Godzilla film to be fully filmed by an American studio, the first having been the 1998 Godzilla.
Godzilla is a curious beast in many ways. Director Gareth Edwards has brought the creature back to life in a film which encapsulates the history of Godzilla films and simultaneously updates the monster. In fact, the creatures in the 2014 Godzilla movie are perhaps perfect, with Godzilla himself almost bear-like in his reptilian appearance.
This story begins in Japan in 1999 as nuclear physicist Joe Brody (Bryan Cranston, edgy in an unbearable wig) investigates questionable seismic activity at the Janjira nuclear power plant.
When a team at the plant, including his scientist wife, Sandra (an underused Juliette Binoche), dies in what everyone believes is a natural disaster, Joe dedicates his life to proving that what caused the devastation was anything but natural. His obsession creates a rift between himself and his son, Ford.
Fifteen years later, we catch up with Ford (played by a placid but sexy Aaron Taylor-Johnson) in San Francisco, where he lives with his wife (Elizabeth Olsen) and their son.
Serving in the U.S. Navy, Ford disarms bombs, a skill that later helps him save the planet from MUTOs — "Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism" — that emerge from a long dormancy and begin traveling the globe, feeding on radiation.
The tallest of any Godzillas before him, this one stands 355 feet high — about 30 stories — with glistening, scaly skin and dorsal fin spikes down his back. His terrifying yet textured roar shakes the theater.
Aiming for a realistic take on how we might react to an invasion by giant creatures, Edwards makes sure our view of them rarely shifts from the human perspective.
The film has Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Lieutenant Ford Brody, USN, an explosive ordnance disposal technician, Ken Watanabe as Dr. Ishiro Serizawa, a scientist, Elizabeth Olsen as Elle Brody, Ford's wife, a nurse, Juliette Binoche as Sandra "Sandy" Brody, Ford's mother, a nuclear regulations consultant at the Janjira nuclear plant, Sally Hawkins as Dr. Vivienne Graham, a scientist who works alongside Serizawa, David Strathairn as Admiral William Stenz, USN and Bryan Cranston as Joe Brody, Ford's father, a nuclear physicist and former engineer at the Janjira nuclear plant. There are some more actors who played minor roles.

When he hears that his dermatologist (Sharon Stone) is looking for a male prostitute to join her and her girlfriend (Sofia Vergara) in a ménage á trois, he sees an opportunity and approaches his younger friend Fioravante (played by Turturro) ─ a sensitive bachelor with his fair share of experience with women and also in his own financial dire straits ─ with the idea that he become a gigolo with him as his pimp. Barely able to make ends meet, he accepts and business booms until Murray sets him up with a widowed Hassidic woman, Avigal (Vanessa Paradis), who makes him reconsider his new profession.
