Shashi Tharoor challenges Modi
Rahul Gandhi has made a decision to contest from Kerala’s Wayanad constituency. Shashi Tharoor said on Sunday and asked whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi would have the courage to fight from a seat in Kerala or Tamil Nadu.
If Congress wants to prove to the people that Rahul's leadership is better than Modi's, Rahul must stand against Modi in both the places of Varanasi and Vadodara and win the election.
Instead of all this Rahul is running away to Waynadu fearing his rival Smriti Irani. Modi is far ahead of Rahul in all aspects. Modi's win is mainly because Congress is in shambles.
For Shashi Tharoor it is easy to sing praise of Congress President or be critical of the policies of NDA but difficult to implement promises. Therefore, Congress should come up  with a comprehensive document that must deal with (a) problems like lack of job, (b) unemployment, (c) farm crisis and farmers’ suicides, inflation, and in particular difficulties of senior citizens who are not govt. pensioners, (d) existing deficiencies in GST etc. It is necessary that the document gives details as to how the Congress party would deal with all these issues. This document can be released after the Karnataka Assembly election in which the Congress hopes to do well, but well before next year’s Lok Sabha election so that citizen-voters can respond.
There is no courage involved in contesting from the South, either Tamil Nadu or Kerala. Only opportunism and a desire to survive prompted RG to contest from Waynad. RG will not dare to contest from Tamil Nadu either. So he might feel that they owe him a victory which the people of UP might not provide.
