Tailoring education and training for Navi Mumbai residents

For those women and girls who wish to learn the art of tailoring, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s social welfare department is coming up with tailoring training program specially for them. The admission for the 2019-20 batch will soon begin. This course has been recognized by Career Education and Training Board of the government.  
This course will admit two batches per year, one in July 2019 and another in December 2019. The minimum qualification for admission to this course is seventh standard pass. The syllabus will included teaching of preparing 30 types of clothes for small children, ladies and gents. There will be specialization courses like ‘Specialisation in blouse’ or ‘Blouse fashion designing’ for which the minimum qualification is eighth standard pass. It is necessary to pass even the basic tailoring course.
For this course, just for namesake, examination entrance fees will be charged. The beneficiaries of this course will strictly be residents of Navi Mumbai. There will be need to submit the following documents: property taxt receipt/ voting card/ aadhar card/ ration card – all these as proofs. The course will be conducted in Marathi, Hindi and English. Other documents needed to join this course are school admission and conduct certificates. Married women should forward their marriage certificate. The beneficiaries have to submit aadhar card and pan card.
The last date for filling up the application and submitting it is 31 March 2019 and the entry fees is Rs 300. Late fee of Rs 350 will have to be paid between 1 and 7 August 2019 before taking admission. Late fee of Rs 500 should be paid to take admission between 8 and 18 August 2019. Normally, the training is free of cost and only government’s entrance fees will have to be paid.

This is a great facility that NMMC is providing to those girls and women who have failed to complete their academic education and who are badly in need of a profession to pursue. This is a good example that NMMC is setting for other corporations in the country to follow. NMMC should keep up this spirit in future too.
