NAVI MUMBAI: Municipal
Commissioner Dinesh Waghmare had few days back come up with a brilliant idea of
outsourcing equipments pertaining to investigation and diagnosis of three new
hospitals. It will be the job of the private party to pay whatever will be the
cost and also hire whichever doctors they wish while the corporation will
provide the premises. This system will become convenient for the patients too.
The equipments which will be outsourced are CT scan, sonography and X-ray. Care
has been taken to see that the rates are affordable to even economically weak
patient.
A resident of the city said, “We would like these new
hospitals too to have a system like the one that exists in Vashi general
hospital. Here investigation and treatment is done at a very cheap rate. There
are good facilities for pregnant women under national health programmes. The
rates of the hospital is very nominal and even the patients from outside the
city are allowed to admit themselves in this hospital although at a slightly higher
rate. Even dialysis is free of cost in this hospital. But the only drawback is
the absence of CT scan but the patients who need CT scan can find it at the hospital
closeby. If these new hospitals are also
made to function like the one at Vashi then the city residents will not have to
crowd at Vashi Hospital whenever they need medical treatment.”
