attempt to create new record in Ghazal-singing

KHARGHAR: Ranjan
Debnath ‘Ranj’, the resident of Kharghar, is preparing himself to create a new
record of singing Ghazals continuously for 25 hours. He will be attempting to
break his own record of having sung Ghazals continuously for 24 hours in the
month of December in an event called ‘Tarannum-E-Tajmahal’ organized by Creation
and Entertainment Company at Mumbai.
This event will be attended by many celebrities as well
as the authorities of Guinness Book of World Record.
Ranjan Debnath ‘Ranj’ has also performed along with
another great singer Anup Jalota. This singer and composer also specializes in
singing devotional songs. He also intends to come up with CDs full of his own
songs and music.
Ranjan has been inspired to sing romantic Ghazals after
he sighted the Taj Mahal of Agra. For last 30 years he has participated in more
than 2000 live concerts. He took training from Pundit Jeevan Singh and
Purushotam Madhav Palkhe and also Agra Gharana’s Ustad Shabbir Ahmed Khan. He
has rendered his Ghazals in front of former Indian President K R Narayanan.
Ranjan Debnath ‘Ranj’ has many fans and admirers all over
the world. His singing touches the core of the heart and stirs the soul.
