Festival 2015 at Urban Haat

A platform will be created for rural artisans and urban
women entrepreneurs across India at Navi Mumbai from 28 October till 1 November
at Urban Haat, Belapur. The grand 5-day festival will be hosted for the first-time
in Navi Mumbai and will showcase the art of weaving and rural artists from all
over India. In all, 150 women artisans will be participating in the event. The
event aims to connect daily to the local artisans and manufacturers of rural
art and craft.
There will also be short films, live installations,
street plays, workshops, environmental awareness on rain harvesting,
cleanliness and more.
A press briefing will be addressed by Ms Shubhangi
Tirodkar, Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture (MACCIA), Ms
Rupali Madan, President and founder of ERA for women, Ms Geeta Castelino, Chief
Advisor, Yash Kohil, Nazneen Sheikh. Highlight will be on ‘A sneak peek of the Event
to be presented by the puppets of famous puppetry and theater artist Ms. Meena
Naik. The press conference will be held on 20 October 2015 at 12 Noon at Nerul
Gymkhana, Plot 5 and 5A, Sector No. 28, Nerul.
