Ajay is one actor who never says ‘Give Up’
By Dinesh Kamath
Indra Kumar signed Ajay for the
film ‘Total Dhamaal’ because the script was very hilarious and Ajay was one
actor who could do justice to that script. Ajay too fell for the script when he
heard it first time itself. He realized that the film was tailor-made for him.
Such films don’t make you think since they are not thought provoking but they
certainly make you laugh and laugh and have real fun.
Ajay Devgn is a natural entertainer.
He doesn’t have any technique. Comedy just comes naturally to him. While doing
a comedy film he uses his heart more than head. That makes his performance so
hilarious that the audiences begin to want more and more comedies from Ajay. Ajay
Devgn performs as per the demand of the story and just follows the character.
This is the secret of his sterling comic performances in his past comedy films.
Another thing is Ajay never overdoes anything. He knows the exact limit. And
hence the audiences never feel bored watching him perform.
Devgn and Karan Johar had become
rivals when their respective films Shivaay and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil clashed at
the box office, having released on the same day. Even Devgn’s wife, actor
Kajol, supported her husband against her ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai director’. Now
they have buried the hatchet and everything is fine.
While Rajamouli has already bugun
shooting RRR, rumours were doing the rounds of the industry that the makers of
the film had approached Ajay Devgn to play a pivotal role. And it is now being
speculated that Devgn has reportedly rejected Rajamouli's offer who now has
approached Akshay Kumar to step into the shoes of the character which Devgn was
offered.
Ajay Devgn refused to star in SS
Rajamouli's RRR, and now Akshay Kumar is being considered. Somehow Ajay didn’t
feel like playing the character that he was offered. For your information, SS
Rajamouli is the wonder director of Baahubali franchise. His RRR or ‘Raama
Ravana Rajyam’ is a period action film. The makers have brought on board two
biggies of South cinema - Ram Charan Teja and Jr NTR - who will be playing the
role of protagonists. When Rajamouli decided to shoot RRR, his first choice was
Ajay Devgn who he wanted to play a pivotal role. But somehow Ajay Devgn refused
and now Akshay Kumar is being considered for that role. Will Ajay change his
mind? We will have to wait and see.
Earlier, Ajay Devgn was offered
to play the role of an antagonist in Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 directed by
Shankar. But Devgn had reportedly rejected this offer too. Had Devgn accepted
this role it would have been his South cinema debut.
Actor Ajay Devgn will soon wrap
up the shooting for his upcoming film Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior in May. Today
we find that many filmmakers are very keen on making movies on historical
figures. In the past they have been inspired by Mughal Emperors like Akbar and
Jahangir to make period films. Now the historical figure Taanaji Malusare is
become a new craze. Ajay will be seen playing the title role of Subedar Taanaji
Malusare, a military leader in Shivaji's army. Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior is a
period drama directed by Om Raut. It is co-produced by Ajay and Bhushan Kumar.
Thus the fans of Ajay Devgn will
be seeing a lot of him in the coming days. Ajay is one actor who will never say ‘Give Up’. That is the most admirable quality he possesses.
