Himmatwala (2013 film)

Himmatwala is a Bollywood action romance film directed by Sajid Khan and jointly produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Vashu Bhagnani. The film features Ajay Devgan opposite Tamannaah in the lead roles. It is an official remake of the 1983 blockbuster of the same name, directed by K. Raghavendra Rao starring Jeetendra and Sridevi. Jeetendra himself, along with Akshay Kumar will be seen in special appearances in this film.

Himmatwala revolves around the story of a poor and wronged woman's son, who returns from the big city to avenge his father, a honest school teacher. Zarina Wahab will be acting as Ajay's mother in the movie. To be exact, the story of the film is this way: An honest temple Pujari takes on more than he can handle when he bears witness to a murder and gives evidence in a court of law against a powerful landlord in his village. The landlord bribes his way to freedom and engineers a ploy to ruin the Pujari's reputation and his status among his peers in the village. Ashamed of his tarnished reputation the Pujari commits suicide and leaves his wife and young children to face the atrocities of the evil landlord. The son flees the village and goes to Mumbai to make a life, but returns years later to avenge the shame caused to his family. Things get complicated when he falls in love with the daughter of the landlord. The plot thickens when it is revealed that the hero is not actually the Pujari's son.

 The film has Ajay Devgan as Ravi, Tamannaah as Rekha, Paresh Rawal as Narayandas, Mahesh Manjrekar as Sher Singh, Adhyayan Suman, Zarina Wahab, Leena Jumani and Surveen Chawla, Amruta Khanvilkar, Sayantani Ghosh, Rinku Ghosh and Mona Thiba in special appearances, Sonakshi Sinha in a special disco song and Dheer Charan Srivastav.

The film has a special disco song called Thank God It's Friday sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and scored by Sachin-Jigar. The other songs have been scored by Sajid-Wajid. The soundtrack includes remakes of the hit songs from the old version of the film, Taki O Taki and Nainon Mein Sapna. The song Naino Mein Sapna has been re-created with the singers Amit Kumar and Shreya Ghoshal.

Thus the film has songs like Nainon Mein Sapna sung by Amit Kumar, Shreya Goshal, Taki Taki by Mika Singh, Shreya Goshal, Dhoka Dhoka by Bappi Lahiri, Sunidhi Chauhan, Mamta Sharma, Bum Pe Laat by Shaan, Soham and Shubh Mukherjee and Thank God It’s Friday by Sunidhi Chauhan.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation

G.I. Joe: Retaliation (also known as G.I. Joe 2 or G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation) is a 2013 American science fiction action film directed by Jon M. Chu, based on Hasbro's G.I. Joe toy, comic and media franchises. It is a sequel to 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. The film was written by Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. G.I. Joe: Retaliation features an ensemble cast, starring Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson, with Channing Tatum, Arnold Vosloo, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, and Lee Byung-hun reprising their roles from the first film.

The film has an interesting plot. After the G.I. Joes are framed as traitors by Zartan, who is still impersonating the President of the United States, the Cobra Commander now has all the world leaders under Cobra's control, with their advanced warheads aimed at innocent populaces around the world. Outnumbered and out gunned, the Joes form a plan with the original G.I. Joe General Joseph Colton to overthrow the Cobra Commander and his allies Zartan, Storm Shadow and Firefly.

Saint Dracula 3D is a film by Rupesh Paul. Produced by BizTV Network - the producers of Dam 999, Saint Dracula became the first ever stereoscopic 3D film to be made on the story of Dracula. Film maker Rupesh Paul splashed a fake news about this film, claiming that it had made it into Oscar Nominations category.

The film has an interesting plot. Longing for vengeance, Dracula waited in hunger and thirst for his long lost admirer. The night hid him in the dark, the earth and the woods were his haven. He is a fallen angel, a catastrophic lover, the trodden Prince of Wallachia, but a vampire in revenge. His partisans await his reprise with a celebration. He turns lucky in love, if not for ever. Beautiful nights of love and lust entangle him with his lost love-Clara, a passionate young nun but still a mortal. The peaches and perfection takes a turn the day Clara gets spellbound by the Catholic Church. The Vatican plots the trap but will the plan thrive? Or will it be love?

The Call (2013 film)

The Call is a 2013 thriller film starring Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin and directed by Brad Anderson. The film is pronounced to be high-concept by many reviewers.

We meet Jordan Turner (Halle Berry), a veteran 911 operator in Los Angeles. She’s considered one of the best in “the hive,” a giant, open office full of computers, lights and other fancy gadgets that help the operators respond to any kind of emergency call they receive. Even though most of the technology is automated, the people on the receiving end have to be sharp, alert and practical. They also can’t make promises to the callers.

One night, after a short romantic rendezvous with her cop-boyfriend (Morris Chestnut), Jordan gets a call from a crying and desperate teenager who says a man has broken into her house. Jordan tells her to keep calm and guides her to safety by having her go upstairs and hide under the bed. But just when the intruder is about to leave, the phone gets disconnected and Jordan makes the mistake of calling the girl back. The intruder hears the ring, heads back upstairs and…well let’s just say things don’t end nicely. Six months go by and Jordan no longer works the floor but is instead a teacher to new recruits. She’s so depressed and uneasy about her recent tragedy, which she feels was her fault, she’s resorted to medication.

 Then, during instruction to her students, another call comes through, and it’s once again from a prudish teenage girl named Casey (Abigail Breslin), who was kidnapped at the mall and is now in the trunk of a car. As it turns out, the kidnapper is the same man (Michael Eklund) from the previous incident, and although Jordan doesn’t know this right away, she still views the call as personal and a way for her to possibly redeem herself.

Will CM keep his promise?

NAVI MUMBAI: A few days back Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan had promised to complete the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link (MTHL) at the earliest and for that, he said, he would take all the necessary steps.

The cost of constructing the 22-km sea bridge connecting Mumbai to Navi Mumbai was estimated to be over Rs 9,000 crore. CM had informed that the Central Government would fund Rs 1,920 crore.

This project had led to some people becoming homeless since their slums had to be destroyed to make way for the project. The six-lane freeway will begin in Sewri, Mumbai and end at Chirle village near NhavaSheva.

Chavan had said that his government was keen to execute this project as it would change the face of Mumbai.

Just recently the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) informed that they were to receive bids from the five eligible consortiums by end of May for this project.

Chief Minister happened to inform the legislators that the tender documents had been distributed to the eligible consortiums and the tenders were expected to be received by end of May. Once the agreement is done, the implementation of the project would begin in six months, he said. He also informed that the project would take around five years to get completed.

The special feature of this project is that this is the first time any infrastructure project has managed to get such a huge amount (Rs 1,920 crore) as viability gap funding (VGF). The MTHL will also improve connectivity to the proposed Navi Mumbai International Airport change Mumbai’s economic scenario.

The six-lane MTHL will have a 16.5km section in the sea and a 5.5km portion on land.

Over 600 slum dwellers were to get affected by the project but the government plans to rehabilitate only about 350 families. This angered some legislators who demanded that all those dislodged should be rehabilitated. Ultimately it was decided that those eligible for rehabilitation under the government rehab policy would be provided with alternative shelter.

Now it is left to be seen whether Chief Minister will keep his promise of speeding up the work on the project and get it completed at the stipulated time and whether justice will be done to all the people affected by the project.
