NERUL: In a time where there is a lot of unrest in the nation due to terrorist attacks, the Nerul Police felt the need to organize a program on Communal harmony at the Ashraya Hall, Nerul, Navi Mumbai on 4 August 2015.

Shri Prabhat Ranjan, Commissioner of Police and Shri Vijay Chauhan, Addl. Commissioner of Police were the Chief Guests at the program which was organized under the guidance of Shri Shahji Umap, DCP – Zone 1 and Suresh Mengde, DCP (Crime) and the invitees were Shri Dhanraj Daima, ACP and Smt. Sangita Alphanso, Sr. PI, Nerul Police Station.

The awareness program were attended by over 500 people which included top religious heads, businessmen, youth and various local leaders. A few of them including Kuresh Siddiqui, Fr. Deepak, Samsher Singh and L G Jungare spoke about unity, love and being together to safe guard the city and the nation. They also assured the Navi Mumbai Police that they would leave no stones unturned to see that Peace shall prevail in the city.

“We should sink our personal differences in larger interests of the country and adopt a common approach to national problems if we want to achieve the laudable goal of national integration and communal harmony. The above has been very true in the case of Navi Mumbai wherein when there was so much turmoil in the country on so many occasions, Navi Mumbai was the most peaceful city in India” said Prabhat Ranjan.

“The need of the hour is to fight the forces of disunity and disharmony and to work ceaselessly for the achievement of national harmony and peace. Communal harmony is the coming together of all the communities of the country and living together with a sense of brotherhood and equality, irrespective of their caste, creed, religion etc” said Suresh Mengde.

“We have to make all our brethren feel that the whole country belongs to them, that there is no high and low in our country, that there is no distinction between religions” said Shahji Umap.

Talking to Sangita Alphanso, she said “Atrocities are being committed in our country, day in and day out, in the name of caste, sect, community, social and economic differences and divergent political veiwpoints. Having said that, I am also glad to state that the people of Navi Mumbai especially Nerul are so peace loving and I have never had to deal with such issues”.

“The meaning of Harmony is the combination of simultaneously sounded musical notes to produce a pleasing effect. So if all of us join together as one, we will also be able to give a pleasing environment to our city and nation” said Dr. Jayakar Ellis, General Secretary – India, National Christian Council.

Speaker’s decision is final

The decision of Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to suspend 25 Congress members from the House for five days was a right one. No one disputes the powers of the Speaker to act to ensure order in the House. The Speaker’s verdict on whether the conduct of a member is “grossly disorderly” is final, and there is no doubt that Congress members came in and shouted slogans without allowing the conduct of proceedings. It is clear that Congress is going for vengeance against the government which they did it while in opposition.

What is the Speaker to do when 25 persons behave in a very disruptive manner? Does not the leader of the Congress Party, whose members were responsible for the disorderly conduct, have any responsibility for controlling them? In fact, before the session started Sonia Gandhi clearly stated that the session would be a washout if her demands were not met. She is making good on her promise. Why should the Bharatiaya Janata Party succumb to her threats?

How can Prime Minister seek resignations from Chief Ministers when they enjoy the confidence of their respective house? Should the high command culture of the Congress prevail even today?

A major reason for absence of dialogue and debate is that our netas come from a pool of rabble rousers. They cannot put forth cogent statements to try and win an argument. In fact if they lose a debate they take it personally rather than accept defeat gracefully. Except for a few, most just want to shout. They have come convinced about their superiority. No question of giving ground. It all started with Sonia Gandhi assuring her flock that the monsoon session will be a washout. That is what she promised and that is what she was bent on achieving. And succeed she did. She did not come to hear Sushma Swaraj. She had made up her mind that the minister was guilty. And that is it. Does Sonia Gandhi think that the Gandhis inherited India from the British and it is their birthright to rule in their place?

Congress and its supporters have developed habit of making unreasonable demands and then insisting on meeting them. Chief Ministers of two states are answerable to their respective Assemblies, and not to the Congress Party. Foreign Minister is answerable to the cabinet of the Lok Sabha. Let Congress move no-confidence motion and censure Foreign Minister. But they would not do so, because Sushma Swaraj would get chance for rebuttal. Congress has not yet accepted sportingly its last defeat in Lok Sabha elections.

Gurupournima festival celebrated at Sanpada with total devotion

SANPADA: “Today, Hindu Dharma is facing assaults through various mediums. It is essential to repel these attacks on Hindu Dharma through the judicial process.  Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad has successfully fought to impart justice to Hindus by approaching courts in many matters such as filing cases against fanatics trying to create enmity in society, Uniform Civil Code, movement for purification of river Ganga, Raza Academy issue, Thane and Madgaon explosion matters and scams in Hindu temples. Now, Court cases will be lodged against those assaulting Hindu Dharma,” stated Adv. Sanjiv Punalekar, National Secretary, Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad. He was speaking in the Gurupournima festival organised jointly by Sanatan Sanstha and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti at Sanpada, Navi Mumbai. This festival was celebrated in Chemist Bhavan, Sanpada, Sector 8 with full of ‘bhav’ in the environment of Chaitanya.

Gurupournima festivals organised by Sanatan Sanstha, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and other spiritual organisations were celebrated at 47 places in various languages, in Bharat including Andheri, Sanpada, Dombivali and Kalamboli. These festivals made Hindus aware about the need to be active in the interest of the Nation and Dharma. Gratitude was expressed toward Guru in these festivals.

The celebrations of Gurupournima festival commenced with worship of Shri Vyas and the picture of H.H. Bhaktaraj Maharaj.  Later, representatives of Sanatan Sanstha presented the ideology of Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay (University for Spirituality). The representatives of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti enlightened the attendees about the Internet News Channel 'Hindu Varta' on the website of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti by narrating the necessity of Hindu news-channel. A short film on News telecast by 'Hindu Varta' was also exhibited. On these occasions the grand exhibitions on the Nation, Dharma and spiritual research along with the Holy texts published by Sanatan Sanstha and sattvik articles by Sanatan were also organised. Many curious persons accrued benefit of these exhibitions.

NASA manages to reach Pluto at last

On July 14 NASA’s New Horizons became the first spacecraft to successfully fly by the dwarf planet Pluto, the last unexplored world in the Solar System. The dwarf planet is geologically active with an internal heat source that drives the engine. The planet has high mountains, possible volcanoes, fault lines, rift valleys and other features which underline the presence of active tectonics.

Getting as close as 12,500 km of the dwarf planet after travelling for nearly a decade and covering a distance of nearly 5 billion km is an extraordinary achievement. With exploration being second nature to humans, it is expeditions such as these that awaken curiosity and fire our interest in science.

Space exploration has always had the power to hold ordinary people under a spell. India’s moon mission Chandrayaan-1 and the recent Mars Orbiter Mission Mangalyaan, certainly rekindled interest in science among students.

US is the only country to have sent spacecrafts to all the planets in our solar system. It is fantastic and laudable achievement. Exploring the space with the weapons of science and technology require huge chunks of funds where US never steps back. India too needs to emulate this in terms of funding research and development projects.

NASA has indeed performed an amazing feat. Human brain has explored areas, beyond imagination. Just like earth one day there would be life on other planets too but different that are in connivance with other planet conditions.

In America, the students are taught science & technology. Their curriculum are based on syllabi on emerging & thrust areas. So, US is always achieving or inventing something or the other. In India the syllabus is made on the diktats of religious leaders and myth is given more importance than Science & Technology. So-called babas are made members of technical institutions like IITs, NITs, Central Universities, etc. If the present policy is continued, India will be erased from the map of world Science & Technology. Indian educational sector should be freed from the present communal-based syllabus and recruitment system.

"Science is an art" and "art is a science", separating them is hurting both. It is the need of the hour that India moves forward on both. India should now prioritize such missions now after success of MOM. Now is the time to take incentive rather than wait for others to perform and then act on the references.

 However, remember, Pluto is orbited by a heavy moon and it may play an important role. The excitement is not only in these mega projects but also plenty of excitement on the other extreme in Nano science where India can focus on. These projects could reverse the trend in the interest in science.

Anyway, it is a great technological and scientific achievement on the part of US. However, unfortunately, all other planets in our Solar system do not support life forms found on Earth. Hence they are of little use to life as we know it. But what about regions outside our Solar system? Who knows? The Galaxy is vast and endless. Maybe somewhere out there, life of some type does exist and thrive.
