Video: Dinesh Kamath sings medley of English Songs

Lyrics of the songs
There are lakhs of girls before my eyes
On this road of life
They are very young and beautiful
They have very rosy lips
And intoxicating eyes
But where is that particular quality?

Your beautiful eyes, when I saw them
I became very intoxicated
Please control me, all my friends,
I cannot control myself

Life is a beautiful journey
Who knows what’ll happen tomorrow

You look very beautiful
I love you like a crazy man
Hope we don’t commit any blunder

I have been calling all the way
On every road that lies outside
Just for shade of your hair
And the stare of love

By touching my mind
What a gesture you made
The climate got changed
And I fell in love with the whole world

There is that magic on your face
I get drawn towards you
When I’ve to go somewhere else

I happen to come towards you

Dinesh Kamath's Editorial 'Brilliant reply by Modi' that was published in Newsband

Brilliant reply by Modi
After the terrorist strike at an Army camp in Uri, Indian forces carried out “surgical strikes” across the Line of Control. The operation was claimed to be a military success with no injuries to the Indian para-commandos who went across the LoC into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to attack several locations. This was not an attack on Pakistan’s defence forces, but a targeted action against terrorists poised to wreak damage in India.
The government reviewed the working of the Indus Waters Treaty, declared it is flirting with the idea of reviewing Pakistan’s Most Favoured Nation status, and pulled out of the SAARC heads’ meet to be held in Islamabad. People living along the International Border and the LoC are shifted to safer locations.
The advantage of such a strike would be that many Pak youth will hesitate to join terror groups now. Earlier there was some heroism in crossing the LOC and creating mayhem. Why would they now risk dying even before they reach the LOC? It will also make the terror groups hesitate to set up launch pads close to the LOC, creating logistical problems for them.
Modi has managed the delicate situation post Uri brilliantly the nation is very happy under his leadership.  Modi should be congratulated heartily for taking such a bold decision.
Pakistan's indifference to the strikes should not be taken lightly. As we carry out some strikes here and there to prevent terror attacks, India should constantly emphasize to the world at large that we are being desperately forced to such means by provocations from our neighbour. At the same time, more diplomatic steps should be taken to gather international support to pressurize Pakistan to take steps to cleanse itself.
Hitting terrorist targets using airborne commando fights just 500 meters from LOC barbed wire fence was undoubtedly a great move. But the question is what is next? Will Pakistan hit hard deep into Kashmir using airborne and military strikes? If this happens UN should not act against Indian interests since we are on the right.
Just one (surgical) strike is not enough because it won't destroy all the terrorists and their camps as well as hideouts. In order to prevent them from regrouping and trying to infiltrate into India, such strikes should be undertaken every month. Further, India should well tighten its defenses so as to be in a position to repulse any possible attack on India by enemy Pakistan army or the terrorists backed by it. We have to remember that in Pakistan it is the army that calls the shots, may any form of government exist there.

The great thing is that an example has been set for future terrorists who intend to cross the borders. Pakistan has been notorious in needling India. We continued to lose valuable lives and assets over decades. But now after a decade, we have a Prime Minister who is decisive and a no-non sense type. Next, we have such a PM with absolute majority in Parliament, not requiring to please other minions. Glad, we have arrived and Pakistan can no longer have the luxury of taking us for granted.

Dinesh Kamath's Editorial 'Do justice to economically backward in upper classes' that was published in Newsband

Do justice to economically backward in upper classes
The series of rallies in the name of Maharashtra’s numerically dominant Marathas is owing to the rape and killing of a 14-year-old girl in Ahmednagar district. All the three accused so far in the case are Dalits. Marathas demand for reservations under the Other Backward Classes category and for scrapping or amendment of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities or POA) Act of 1989.
The demand for inclusion in the OBC quota is because of relative economic backwardness among a large cross-section of Marathas and their inability to move up the economic ladder. Marathas are a dominant caste and play a central role in electoral politics as well as the political economy of the State. The Bombay High Court had stayed an order by the previous Congress-NCP government for 16 per cent reservations for Marathas in educational institutions and jobs over and above the almost 50 per cent quota for SC/STs and OBCs put together. The Devendra Fadnavis-led government should address the State’s agrarian distress and need for more job creation, instead of expanding reservations,
Marathas are demanding amendment of PoAA to avoid misuse. Though the clan is politically dominant, gross negligence of Agri sector, rampant corruption in Cop movement has deep impact on majority of farmers. Further divisions of land has made it unviable. It is not against any community or caste. People are voicing their concerns and that also in peaceful way. Even rally route is cleaned at the end.
The government should take care of the demands of Marathas. What was impressive was that all such Morchas were silent and peaceful. The organisers set an example for the others who indulge in slogan-shouting and vandalizing public property.
Today a general category person has to struggle a lot to beat the competition in fighting for few unreserved seats. This reservation politics will only keep the most deserved person away from their rightful share and may even force them to move out of India to pursue better prospects
There are instances where some 'upper- caste' girls have been humiliated or atrocities committed on them. Such instances should be investigated and the guilty punished. Many false atrocities cases have been filed. False atrocity cases are filed against the poor "upper class" by the rich "low class". And again some rich "high class" actually carry out atrocities on poor dalits. One common thing in both the cases are the "rich" getting away. No community is good, no community is bad. It’s the individuals.

The key reasons for this stir is the agrarian distress and unemployment at the all levels and it is painful for the economically backward in the upper classes and they seek agitation mode for reservations.

Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate initiates Women Safety Week in Public Transport
By Dinesh Kamath

NAVI MUMBAI: To ensure safety for women in public transport, the Navi Mumbai Police commisionerate organized the first week long seminar “Women Safety in Public Transport” for the drivers and conductors of the NMMT buses at the Turbhe Depot on 3rd October, 2016. The seminar will end on Sunday 9th October, 2016.
“Taking insight of the Nirbhaya case, we plan to train the drivers and conductors on how to handle such situations and also equip them with various techniques of safety measures,” said Shri Hemant Nagrale, Commissioner of Police, Navi Mumbai.
Mr. Khamkar Chandrasekar, CAFO, NMMC said, “Programmes like these are the need of the hour, especially when we hear of cases of eve teasing in public transport. I am thankful to the police department for taking such an initiative to teach our drivers and conductors the safety measures. Our Municipal Commissioner Shri. Tukaram Munde is very serious about the safety of women and children in the city especially in the public transport and under his and Shri Shirish Aradwad, GM, NMMT’s able guidance we plan to have GPS and CCTV in all the NMMT buses”.
Presently, NMMT has a total of 360 buses. Of these, 70 buses have been installed with CCTV.
“As crimes against women are increasing, we have started this initiative to enable women to feel safe while commuting in public transport” said Shri. Dilip Sawant, DCP (Crime).
“The above program is being conducted by Smt. Sangeeta Alphonso, Sr. Police Inspector, Women Assistance Cell. We plan to go to different schools and colleges to spread awareness of various ways of how women can ensure safety” said Shri. Nitin Kausidikar, ACP (Crime).
“Along with educating drivers and conductors, we have also launched the Pratisaad (response) Mobile App for Andriod and IOS which will ensure that cops reach a woman in distress in seven minutes or less. Women will first have to download the app and register. Each account will be verified by the police and the user will have to keep their phone’s GPS switched on while using the app. A woman in distress can click on the emergency icon in the app and cops will reach her in less than seven minutes. At least ten police officials from the local police station will be notified of her distress call,” said Sangeeta Alphonso, heading the Women Assistance Cell.
“This initiative by the Women Assistance Cell is commendable and we would be promoting this through STREE & PACT - the projects of Heart Foundation to various schools and colleges,” said Dr. Jayakar Ellis, President of Heart Foundation.

“A Seminar is being conducted for seven days to train the drivers and conductors to increase awareness of Women safety on Public Transport. The programme is being conducted at Turbhe Bus Depo. Total 2000 Drivers and Conductors will be trained - an initiative of Navi Mumbai police for Women Safety,” said Hemant Nagrale, CP Navi Mumbai.

Video: Online Hero Dinesh Kamath in Conversation

Dinesh Kamath's Editorials 'Rights of children trampled' and 'Education for all by 2030?' that were published in Newsband

Rights of children trampled
The Growing Crisis for Refugee and Migrant Children is worrying the members of Unicef. Over 50 per cent of the 50 million children who have migrated or been forcibly displaced across borders are said to have fled violence. About one in three children who live outside their country of birth is a refugee.
The dramatic rise in school enrolment under a global universal primary education drive, or the halving of infant mortality rates under the Millennium Development Goals is good news. But they are accompanied by bad news like
trafficking in boys and girls, conscription by armed groups in conflict zones and exploitation in the sex trade which are growing in number.
The governments should address the root causes of conflict, violence and extreme poverty and be more sympathetic view on humanitarian imperatives.
There have been many appeals from various human rights groups on the state of countries devastated by wars and the plight of children.
The shocking report that the number of Child refugees is on the surge send further signal on the pathetic plight of the refugee children whose future in regard to education and other bare necessities are grim. It is horrifying that the children are used for crimes like trafficking, sex trade and conscription by armed groups. Hence UNO must find out a concrete means to solve the child refugees problem rather than be a mute spectator of this global anathema.

Education for all by 2030?
Current educational attainments remain far from adequate for the enhancement of personal well-being and social progress. There are many rewards individuals and societies are able to reap when endowed with higher qualifications. People with a master’s degree stand to enjoy wage advantage while their governments receive over a lifetime in taxes and social contributions more than they invest on a graduate.
The objectives of reduction of poverty, alleviation of hunger, expansion of employment, empowerment of women and gender equality are all influenced by the qualifications and skills that men and women possess. Without an educated and empowered populace, the dream of an enlightened, more tolerant and peaceful world would forever remain elusive.
Will the dream pertaining to Education for All by 2030 become a reality? Government and educational institutions should unitedly work to achieve the goal by 2030. Government should stop fabricating excuses and instead work on education system with cohesion

The thing is education has been less targeted towards personal well-being and social cause. The quality education is a mirage to the people and the rural education suffers at the hands of the government and pedagogues, both are indifferent to the education of the rural poor. The government has not reaped the dividend on its education investment so is the yield of the recipients. Corruption and policy paralysis are the major conundrums in education and the governments. 2030 target of quality education is only a namesake target. Poverty reduction, hunger alleviations, empowerment, gender equity etc. all depends upon quality education but the quality education is made a joke of by the bureaucrats and unscrupulous politicians.
