Aatma
Aatma is a 2013 Bollywood psychological thriller directed by Suparn Verma and starring Bipasha Basu and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles and Shernaz Patel and Doyel Dhawan in supporting roles. Aatma centers on a mother who must fight to keep her daughter safe from the ghost of her father. The film has music by Sangeet Haldipur and Siddharth Haldipur, cinematography by Sophie Winqvist and editing by Hemal Kothari.
The movie follows Maya (Bipasha Basu), a single mother who has managed to escape the cycle of abuse from her husband (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) after his death. Her sense of peace is shattered when she begins to discover that her husband possesses their daughter (Doyel Dhawan) with the intent of causing the child's death and taking her with him to his own world (of the dead).
The film is a psychological thriller rather than a horror film. The film is a strong human drama about a mother's maternal instinct and a father's attachment to his child.

The consensus of opinion was: "Bold, bloody, and stylistically daring, Django Unchained is another incendiary masterpiece from Quentin Tarantino."

Dinesh Kamath's Editorial 'Suicide or homicide?' that was published in Newsband

Suicide or homicide?
How did Ram Singh — the main accused in the Delhi rape case of December 2012 — die inside Tihar Jail? Was it suicide or homicide? Despite being kept on special watch, Ram Singh was found dead hanging on the grill of his cell on Monday. Ram Singh’s family and his lawyers have raised the possibility of murder. Ram Singh, who was found hanging with his own clothes.
The report of the All India Committee on Jail Reforms has pointed out, prisoners have the right to human dignity, the right to integrity of the body, and immunity from repression and abuse whether by custodial staff or fellow-prisoners. Only a comprehensive inquiry can reveal whether Ram Singh was treated with dignity in the prison both by jail staff and by other inmates.
This death should provoke changes in some of the processes and procedures in jail administration and bring amendments to the jail manuals to guarantee and ensure the rights of prisoners as human beings.
This incident has proved that even prison cells are not safe now, where inmates are supposed to be under strict security of police. Prisons must be modernized and have CCTVs and monitors. Staff must be made more responsible and answerable for every incident.
Many people have no mercy for Ram Singh and don’t bother whether it’s a suicide or a murder. They feel sorry about the fact that he had an easy escape. They don’t feel bad at all for the way he met his end. They only hope that his death won't provide a loophole for his other accomplishes to escape justice.
It is well known fact that unwanted criminals are lodged in the cell along with sleeper goondas who are expected to kill the target in the cell to silence the accused once for all. Was Ram Singh a similar victim?
It is true that one is innocent until proven guilty, as per law. So should Ram Singh have been fed for 10 years like Ajmal Kasab?
Ram Singh’s death is a serious matter because he knew more about the crime situations. The chance of arriving at vital truth is vanished or the court will be missing some crucial evidence with the prisoner's death. It is strange that Ram Singh whose one hand was not functioning could manage to commit suicide on his own.  If he used his own clothes for hanging then the jail authorities cannot be blamed because the undertrial cannot be left in prison without clothes or a bed sheet to wrap himself with.

TMC official had sent water tankers to Airoli for Bapu’s meet, suspended
By Dinesh Kamath
NAVI MUMBAI: Municipal commissioner RA Rajeev has suspended a junior engineer of Thane Municipal Corporation’s water department for dispatching eight water tankers for the Holi celebrations organized by self-proclaimed spiritual guru Asaram Bapu at Navi Mumbai on Monday. The name of the junior engineer is Prakash Katkadi.
The water from the tankers Katkadi provided was used by Asaram Bapu to spray on his followers who had assembled in large numbers at a ground in Airoli. The congregation was held at the Patni compound area within Navi Mumbai municipal corporation jurisdiction. Katkadi had sent the water tankers in spite of the instructions issued by the state government saying that no water tankers should be provided to Asaram Bapu since he had misused 50,000 litres of water for Holi revelry at Kasturchand Park in Nagpur a few days back.
It seems Katkadi had sent the tankers after coming under political pressure. Also it was drinking water which was sent by Katkadi.
Asaram Bapu was also criticized for provoking his followers at Navi Mumbai into pelting stones at media persons and injuring some of them.

Navi Mumbai tops the list in pollution caused by vehicles and industries
By Dinesh Kamath
NAVI MUMBAI: Of the seven major metro cities in the state, including Pune, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Nashik, where air quality was tested from January to December last year, it was found that Mumbai (at Sion) fared the worst, according to the figures provided by the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board.
Navi Mumbai topped the list for air quality deterioration caused due to vehicular and industrial pollution. While the concentration of sulphur dioxide (SO2) that is emitted by industries, stood at 82 ug/m3, though the permissible limit is only 80. Similarly, in case of nitrogen oxide (NO2), the permissible limit is 80 ug/m3, but the Navi Mumbai reading was 290. But Mumbai is not too far behind and exceeds the limits in case of NO2, which is a result of high vehicular pollution.

No Holi for Asaram Bapu and his people, says the govt
Bapu’s men defend their spiritual guru
By Dinesh Kamath
NAVI MUMBAI: The Maharashtra government has banned self-proclaimed spiritual guru Asaram Bapu's Holi celebrations. The directive comes after Asaram Bapu, along with his followers, continued to indulge in pre-Holi revelry in Navi Mumbai in defiance of an earlier government order against it. The festivities have been widely criticised for resulting in wastage of thousands of litres of water at a time when the state is facing its worst drought since 1972.
But Asaram Bapu’s men did not agree that the revelries amounted to wastage of water. They defended Asaram Bapu by saying that Palaash flowers, tulsi, neem, Ganga jal and other ingredients were mixed with water and this had medicinal value and hence Bapu’s followers treated it as Prasad. They further argued that this formula was from the scriptures and Bapu's followers have found that this solution prevents skin diseases, cools down body temperature and casts away depression.
Asaram Bapu's followers had assaulted journalists at his Holi celebrations yesterday in Navi Mumbai. Three media persons were injured and the police have now arrested 23 people on connection with the incident. Asaram Bapu’s men once again defended the spiritual leader by blaming the media persons for the ugly incident that took place.
