High Court
admits PIL opposing one time planning proposal
By Dinesh Kamath
NAVI MUMBAI: Advocate Vinod Gangwal had filed a Public Interest
Litigation in the Bombay High Court. The PIL opposed the one time planning
proposal that Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has come up with.
Gangwal
questioned as to how this proposal could be implemented without the approval of
Chief Minister and Urban Development Department. NMMC has already started
working on the project although this scheme has not received any approval. Gangwal
called this proposal as wastage of public funds.
The
PIL has been admitted by Bombay High Court and the next hearing on this matter
will be on 12 September 2013.
The
strange thing is that it was the duty of the opposition parties in NMMC to come
up with such a PIL but since they sat quiet on this matter, Vinod Gangwal had
to take the initiative. He accused NMMC authorities of joining hands with the
ruling party in NMMC to work on such project which is only wastage of tax-payers’
money.
