NMMC to beautify Nerul lake

NAVI MUMBAI: Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation is planning to beautify Nerul lake. Around the lake will be a fitness park, jogging path, an amphitheatre and an open air gym. The city residents who enjoy riding two wheelers, especially the cycle, can use this place to have their fun. The cycling track will soon be ready. Cycling track and jogging track will be constructed separately. They will touch the lake on one side and Palm Beach Road on the other side.

Once the beautification of Nerul lake is completed, this spot is bound to attract many tourists. Even the local residents are bound to pay constant visit to this spot especially to exploit these tracks. Migratory birds will be an additional tourist attraction.

The jogging track will be made in such a way that it will suit professional runners and the wooden floor appearance of the track will make it more attractive to those who use it.

There will be light poles constructed  around the lake and this will brighten up the place at night. Those who are interested in fishing will be granted permission to pursue their hobby near the lake under the supervision of the lake authorities.

The park will have walls on all sides to prevent unwanted intruders. The park will have a huge statue which will be called the jewel of Navi Mumbai and it will also have an amphitheatre where functions or events can be organized and presented before 1000 audiences. The park will also have an open-air gym and parking lot.

The fitness zone will also attract both the tourists and local residents thus adding to the revenue of NMMC. The greenery factor will also not be ignored while beautifying the lake and its surroundings.
