NMSF’s program for students of standard VII to XII
By Dinesh Kamath

Navi Mumbai Science Foundation has organized a program for interested and talented students of classes VII to XII, for training them to the Pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad examination. Pre-RMO, an examination conducted by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) is the first step towards the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). This program is being organized by Navi Mumbai Science Foundation (NMSF) & the classes are being held at Fr. Agnel Multipurpose School. The classes are being conducted by scientists of BARC and former professor of mathematics of Mumbai University, and consist of twenty lectures on the curves and calculations of the mathematics. It is a unique training programme for the students who aspire to perform well in the Olympiads. About forty students, selected through a screening test will undergo the training in two batches - one senior and another junior - of classes VII-VIII & IX-XII respectively. The Mathematical Olympiad, being highly competitive international event, requires a sustained effort from both students and the trainers. Hence the program, which initially targets the pre-RMO & RMO examinations of this year, is ultimately focused to train students for National & International level examinations coming up in the following years.  For further details please visit website http://www.navimumbaisciencefoundation.org.
