Modi is a master politician

Prime Minister Narendra Modi seems to have made it a habit of keeping quiet until very late in the face of violence and intimidation by certain sections. But when he did speak, he did so forcefully, leaving many people to wonder why he had not done so earlier. Modi realises that his every word and deed is closely watched, not only by his detractors but also by his supporters and admirers. He must speak out against atrocities of every kind, particularly those committed by groups very close to his party.

He rightly stays above and away from the fray most of the time but speaks up forcefully when something exacerbates the traditional fault-lines of our society, religion, caste, ethnicity, even gender. Prime Minister should not be blamed for every misdeed happening in our country, where does the state government and police go at this time.

Modi is a master politician knowing well when and how long to maintain silence on the happenings that take place in different parts of the country and that grab the headlines in print and electronic media , with recurring frequency after his becoming the PM . He knows better when to break the silence and what to say. It will be preposterous to assume that his silence would mean acquiescence in these happenings.

Modi is the most eloquent and vocal PM ever. He speaks what is necessary for the country, however he cannot answer on every issue affecting India and its various states. The CMs have to bear responsibility for issues affecting their states. The question is not about speaking up; but practising it. Words mean nothing unless followed by bold action.

Targeting Modi for the aberrations of the so called Hindu zealots, may be belonging to BJP-RSS family or Hindu Mahasabha clan or Shiv Sena supporters, has on the one hand become a popular pastime of many unemployed or under employed politicians, intellectuals, and newsmakers, and has become a planned strategic event management for the professional political strategists to milk it for electoral benefit of their pay-masters on the other hand. Modi showed his displeasure at Dadri incident and has shown his anger and dismay at recent events but the committed tribe continues to gore him on these issues for political and personal gains.
