NAVI MUMBAI: Hindu Janjagruti Samiti has
written to Mayor of Navi Mumbai Sudhakar Sonawane a letter saying, “India is
celebrating Independence Day which will be observed by various government,
semi-government and private organizations. Since last few years it was found
that small paper national flags were distributed among the children but these
flags are seen just littered on the street after the event is over. Hence the parents
and teachers of such children should be asked to discipline their wards and
teach them to respect the national flag. If this is done right now, then this
good culture will be passed down to the future generation too.”
The letter was handed to the mayor by spokesperson of
HJS Dr Uday Dhuri, Mrs Vidyagouri Gujar and Mrs Daundkar. They also met the
Municipal Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe and handed him a similar application.
Hindu Janjagruti Samiti has been playing vital role in trying to prevent
National Flag from being insulted by Indians or outsiders. Even the court had
given orders to stop insulting national flags and manufacturing of plastic
flags.
