Bharati Vidyapeeth initiates “Swachh Vidyalaya -Swachh Navi Mumbai Abhiyan”

NAVI MUMBAI: The series of cleanliness drive launched today at various campuses of Bharati Vidyapeeth is aimed at creating awareness among the students, faculties, staff and public to inculcate a habit of keeping their surrounding clean, campus director Dr. Vilasrao Kadam said while inaugurating the “Swachh Vidyalaya - Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” at its CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai campus.
The function started with paying tributes to the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi (Bapu) and one of the greatest mass leader and pride son of India Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri.
On the occasion Dr. Dattajirao Y. Patil, the director of the Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Management Studies and Research (BVIMSR) read the circular in this regard of the AICTE and the UGC and emphasized that this cleanliness drive is just a beginning to spread awareness and it must continue throughout life to make the habit of cleanliness, he further added.
In this drive the students of Management Studies and Research, Institute of Management and Information Technology, Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Development, Institute of Pharmacy and the Institute of Hotel Management have taken enthusiastic participation.
Faculty members, administrative staff, students and public have also taken oath to keep their surroundings clean and practice hygiene in their day to day affair. This “Swachh Vidyalaya - Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” was organized under the banner of National Service Scheme of Bharati Vidyapeeth.
By cleanliness we mean the habit of keeping physically and mentally clean. Cleanliness of mind is also essential to obtain godliness, said Mr. Satya Ranjan, one of the prominent members of this “Swachh Vidyalaya - Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”.

It gives me a pleasure that we have utilized our holiday for a good cause and to make this movement a success, said Dr. Vaishali Patil, the HOD of MCA, while congratulating the volunteers who have made their sincere effort in this drive to cleaning the premise and the surrounding areas.
