Vashi Mini Seashore witnesses death of many fish, environment activists protest
By Dinesh Kamath

NAVI MUMBAI: Vashi Mini Seashore witnessed a shocking happening during the early hours of the morning. A huge number of dead fish were found at the seashore. The fishermen around suspect that the spread of certain kind of oil in the sea could be the reason for the death of such a huge number of fish.
The industries around which dispose off their chemical waste in the sea could also be the cause of death of such a large number of fish. Another reason could be the advent of winter season which exposed the fish to cold waves resulting in their death. Some attribute the death of these fish to fumigation that was carried out in the sea to finish the mosquitoes.

The Environment activists raised a hue and cry about this happening and demanded that Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation should take serious view about this incident and ensure that poisonous waste are not thrown into the sea since they could be hazardous not only to the marine lives that dwell within the water but also to those residents who come here to enjoy swimming.
