Initiative by Hiranandani Hospital to empower women to tackle emergencies completes a month

NAVI MUMBAI: Celebrated with participants from business, political, social and educational institutions; an initiative by Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi-A Fortis Network Hospital, completes a month, today. The initiative has already reached over 600 women through demo camps at housing societies, colleges and the local samaj’s. The ‘BeBoldForChange’ campaign included training on managing crisis, medical and non-medical, within their homes and peripheral areas. Training was imparted for Basic Life Support (BLS), Fire Safety, First Aid administration and Childcare.
SIES College, Nerul, Tamil Sangam, Vashi, Arihant Sparsh, Vashi, ONGC colony, Uran, SBI colony, Nerul, SBI colony, Belapur and Bharatiya Vidyapeeth College, Kharghar were covered in the month-long initiative. Prabhakar Gade, Chief Fire Officer, Navi Mumbai,
Dr. Vandana Gawdi, Senior Consultant OBGYN and Dr. Manisha Bobade, Facility Director, Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi – A Fortis Network Hospital had flaged-off the initiative on International Women’s Day.
Speaking about the initiative, Dr M. Z Shaikh, Principal, Bhartiya Vidyapeth College, Kharghar, said “This is a great initiative, the demos and activities was very informative and helpful. Our ladies staff and students were thoroughly engaged during these sessions”.
Dr Kedar Tilwe, Consultant Psychiatrist & Counsellor, Dept. of Mental Health & Behavioral Sciences, Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi – A Fortis Network, who is lead the program, said “This initiative is our effort to further empower the women of Navi Mumbai; equipping them with basics to tackle all kinds of emergencies. We hope to reach out to more women as we continue with the initiative”.
