GST shows signs of improving Indian Economy considerably
India switches to a new indirect tax system, the Goods and Services Tax. The GST unifies the country into a single market. GST will take the nation in second phase of economy, play important role as the feeling nationalism generated before the freedom. It is a starting of new era. It is a complex phenomenon but not complicating to understand, familiar with the time, easy way of paying tax, beneficial to the poor, a boost to the economy, enhancing people to be honest towards nation.  It's not a tax, it’s a new beginning.
The launch of GST by Modi government led to protests erupting in many parts of the country against the new tax regime. While in several cities and towns, shops did not conduct any business as they are yet to transit to the new tax system, in others merchants and traders downed shutters or came out on the streets to express their resentment at being put into a higher tax bracket.
Every change and reform has a teething pain initially. As usual, we expect the opposition parties to make a big hue and cry complaining about every small minor inconvenience. We the voters do not mind looking at the big picture. We have to welcome the much delayed roll out of GST at last. This should have happened in 2010. But better late than never. It has happened now.
Finally, the journey of 17 years has reached the destination. Now, we have got freedom from 17 types of taxes. In the beginning, we will have to face inflation for few days. But, after sometime it is beneficial for the economy of our country. GST implementation may fuel economic growth. At last, the government determined to implement what it profess to be good and simple. One has to wait for the future results to see that it is not grinding and complicated tax system.
Congress always does not favour whatever is done by BJP it even if it is good for the country. The Political stand of the Congress and other Opposition parties smacks of illogical and emotional "counter’ expressions, without scientific exposition of the what/why/how. To boycott the proceedings instead of taking credit for initialising debate on this reform, the opposition have given a big advantage to the ruling party. They cannot deny that it is a welcome measure though stymied by the BJP in the Parliament and by BJP ruled States for well near a decade. If it had been introduced earlier the advantages may have helped the growth of good business in the country.

GST is not a tamasha but a right reform delayed by political compulsions. That should have been the objective of the opposition during the session.
