Dinesh Kamath's Editorial 'Trump’s policies should not affect Indo-US relations' that was published in Newsband

Trump’s policies should not affect Indo-US relations
The problems being faced by the IT industry have been raised by India with the US government from time to time at various levels. India has also taken up the matter on US visa fee hike. The US has not made any comprehensive changes to the work visa programmes including H-1B visas so far. But whatever will be the changes in the US visa regime they should not result in higher operational costs and shortage of skilled workers for the $110 billion Indian outsourcing industry.
US has own agenda and do not base their policy decision on Indian request for change of visa rule. But remember that JFK, Jimmy Carter and Clinton were the US Presidents who were friends to India and so also Obama. Will Trump too carry forward their friendly policy towards India?
Trump has made the visa issue really serious. Our government should take some strong steps. People in USA do not care about H1B visa cut which is adversely affecting Indian IT. Indian IT industries should be blamed for this. They are the reason why the H1B visa issues became hot potatoes during last election as the Indian company exploited H1B visas at home as well as abroad for profit. These companies sent so called IT experts from India for profit and replaced American IT workers.

We can only request the USA for easier Visa rules. But at the end of the day it is purely the internal decision of the US people and government.
