Candidates
for Assembly Election adopt varieties of tactics
By Dinesh Kamath
NAVI MUMBAI: Few days
are left for the assembly election to take place and the candidates are become
very impatient. They are trying all possible tricks to attract maximum voters
by applying minimum efforts. They are focusing particularly on crowded areas so
that they can convey their messages to maximum possible voters with just one
visit to that place. The intensity of the election campaigns is increasing with
the passing of every day and with the Election Day drawing closer and closer.
The candidates in the forthcoming
election are leaving no stone unturned to reach out to the voters and they are
using all kinds of methods, some of which were never used in the past
elections. ‘Online propaganda’ is the new code word of the younger ones among
the candidates. They are using all kinds of social networking sites like
Whatsapp, Facebook, Blogs, Twitters etc. etc.
The older ones among the
candidates prefer straight face-to-face interactions with the voters. The modern
candidates mix up more with urban voters while the traditional ones prefer to
exchange words with rural voters.
The candidates visit
from one place to another, harping about their achievements and promising to
bring about kind of developments which their rivals can never think about.
The local candidates
prefer to invite the state-level leaders as well as national-level leaders to the
city to give boost to their chances of winning the elections.
Thus these are the
various tactics adopted by all the candidates to attract maximum voters towards
their side.
