I am the Fan of Terrence Howard who plays Lucious Lyon in the American musical drama ‘Empire’ on Fox

Lucious Lyon (born Dwight Walker) is a fictional character from the
American musical drama Empire on Fox, portrayed by Terrence Howard. Lucious is
the main protagonist and anti-hero of the series. Lucious is the founder and
CEO of Empire Entertainment, a world famous and renowned record company that he
runs with his family. Realizing he will need a successor after he is diagnosed
with ALS, Lucious pits his three sons — the college-educated executive Andre
Lyon (Trai Byers), the talented and gay singer/songwriter Jamal (Jussie
Smollett) and youngest rapper Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) -- against one another.
The story parallels William Shakespeare's King Lear and James Goldman's The
Lion in Winter.
However, Lucious must contend with his
ex-wife Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) upon her release from prison as she demands
her piece of the company.
Howard described himself as "megalomaniac". "You need to be a megalomaniac to play a megalomaniac." Howard
plays Lucious with his "head down
or is softhearted about something," Lucious appears to own the world. Howard also drew on inspiration from the
1972 film ‘The Godfather’. Lucious wants to be Michael Corleone, but sometimes
he's stuck at being Sonny. Lucious does his best to get rid of his emotions.
However, his emotions always sneak up on him and "keep him human."
Lucious
is unapologetic about who he is. What rubs him the wrong way is his
"inability to connect with the people that really mean the most to him."
He has five billion dollars and doesn't
need anybody's approval." Howard
is "brutally, objectively and
subjectively honest, in every circumstance."
"Raised
on the streets" Lucious never backs down from a fight and will do anything
to defend his life's work. He had to
be incredibly charming and charismatic and likable," Lucious loved little
Jamal, but his need for the boy to be a strong man was greater than his need to
show his love to him. That was a difficult scene."
Lucious
is supposed to be the epitome of a 'man'
in the black community. He's raising three [strong] sons.
When Lucious is diagnosed with ALS in the pilot, he starts to realize
that he was not a great parent because he was so focused on "making the
money."
Lucious is all about "what he wants
in the moment." Cookie is "the one" for Lucious. There is a
great chemistry between Howard and Henson and there undoubtedly is
"extraordinary connection" between the two characters. Lucious and
Cookie have a mutual love for one another.
Thus Lucious
is one of the most compelling characters on television, making Terrence Howard likable. The
character had depth to him due to Howard's impressive portrayal. I am the Fan
of Terrence Howard as Lucious in the American TV serial ‘Empire’.
