Summer classes is a good idea
The ongoing summer classes being held at CIDCO’s Urban Haat from 1st May,
2019 onwards received excellent response this year. Offering a range of
activities to suit the taste and interest of participants, the event saw
participation from young and old alike. The main objective of exposing
individuals to unique activities and help them shape their overall personality
and enhance their skill set through these hobby classes was achieved
successfully.
Students, housewives and senior
citizens showed great enthusiasm by participating in the summer classes. The
hobby classes for Madhubani painting and Warli painting saw full participation
as 10 students enrolled and learned the art and craft forms from the best
artisans on the job. Block printing was another hobby class that witnessed
maximum participation from students and housewives.
Master craftsmen and artisans exposed the participants to the right
technique and helped them develop the accurate skill set for the craft in a
short span of 10 days. Engaging and informative sessions about the history of
the craft and its uniqueness was highly appreciated by the audience.
Individuals of all age groups in the city should take advantage of the
classes and participate in large numbers. Existing participants have enjoyed
getting acknowledged with traditional Indian art forms. This should encourage
new participants to participate and enhance their skill set with art and craft
classes.
There should be yoga, dance, arts, drama, music or any other classes at
the amphitheatre in CIDCO Urban Haat. Artists/organizations should come forward
to organize such camps. That will do a lot of good to the city residents.
