Dinesh Kamath's Editorial 'Will a Woman become the strongest person in the World?'

Will a Woman become the strongest person in the World?
Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton has a comfortable lead in the polls. The campaign of Republican nominee Donald Trump had been dealt with multiple blows stemming from the “Access Hollywood” tapes. Ms. Clinton still enjoys an overwhelming statistical probability of winning the 270 electoral college votes required to secure the presidency. She maintained a statesmanlike poise throughout the presidential debates, and in Email-gate the FBI has failed to unearth any evidence of criminality against her so far. Thus more than 21 months of feverish campaigning have ended.
During the past elections in US the following things had come to light: (1) intimidation of vulnerable sections of society such as citizens of African, Latino origin, often depriving them of their right to vote on the basis of flimsy, manufactured pretexts. (2) Except Maine and Vermont, all U.S. states prohibit felons from voting while in prison (3) Requiring eligible citizens to register to vote. Thus US pontificates from every pulpit and platform on the virtues of democracy, freedom and capitalism; and warns the rest of the world to adopt democratic norms.
Government of India should learn a lesson from above. The disparity between rich and poor is MORE staggering in India than in the West, and it is growing at a faster rate. And ‘robots’ will replace manufacturing jobs, just as they are doing in the West. India needs to revamp its engineering courses (it matters less now as most do admin jobs afterwards, not engineering), as well as ‘skill’ its workforce for this new manufacturing environment of robots (when India has not fully experienced the world of ‘mechanisation’). Also, Artificial Intelligence in medicine (e.g. IBM Watson Analytics) could help solve huge shortage of medical professionals.
Politics is same whether it is in India or elsewhere in the world. The main aim for politics is to get Power. Whoevers win in America, their status will rise and he or she will obtain enormous power and try to crush other opponent, same theory as adopted by our politicians. In India’s recent surgical strike, some opposition try to prove it false, some try to raise question on the encounter of SIMI terrorists just for vote bank, some even don't know the issue and what is going on but want to say something and show his or her presence in public by spitting anything. Scams are the main issues, corruption are their common goal and raising salary without any consent of public who feed taxes are their hidden agenda for passing bills in parliamentary session.
America is a great nation with a democratic society and civil liberties and hence it is hoped that a righteous and honest community server will be elected to look after the American people. The American President election is a step by step move right from selecting the candidate till the counting of votes and announcing the result. Face to face criticism, digging personal secrets of the candidate, mudslinging - all lead to a nasty campaign. A country which takes global lead for opulence and 'monitor attitude' towards other countries polity has election system where candidate's personal records are analysed at the core level. But in India the image of the party dominates and very few candidates are selected for their image in a big democracy.

However, Hillary should move forward bravely although there are many hurdles and stumbling blocks on the way. The question everybody asks is ‘Will a Woman become the strongest person in the World?’
