NAVI MUMBAI: A
forum of various churches in Navi Mumbai met yesterday to discuss about the
continuous atrocities happening all over India in the recent past and also on
the NMMC elections which is to be held on 22nd April 2015.
Talking to Dr. Jayakar Ellis, General Secretary-India,
National Christian Council and a resident of Navi Mumbai for 26 years, said
"We are saddened by the way the Christians are being targeted in our
Nation in which our Fathers and Nuns have given their lives for the upliftment
of the poor and marginalised." "The recent furore on sterilising the
Christians and the Muslims by various factions has really hurt us. We have
asked the Pastors and Christian leaders to encourage their respective members
to vote so that we could get the right people in power" he added.
Pastor V J Johnson, President, Navi Mumbai Pentecostal
Fellowship, said "We want to have freedom of Religion to practise and also
have security of our lives and belongings only then we believe that our City
and the Nation can grow in Unity and harmony."

cried out for the total freedom of Christians in our own motherland. He added

must to be treated as a rightful citizen of India."

Associates to take active part in the coming elections by exercising their
right to vote and bring to power the right candidates, who will respect and
uphold the rights of every citizen irrespective of religion, caste, creed and
