Dinesh Kamath's Editorial 'Modi’s foreign policy initiatives should be appreciated' that was published in Newsband
Modi’s foreign policy
initiatives should be appreciated
Modi government’s
foreign policy initiatives and efforts to raise India’s international profile are
prominent features of the year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visits to 18 countries
in the West, Latin America, China, the neighbourhood and East Asia were great
efforts made by him and his government to adapt India to a fast-changing,
multipolar world. The government has
simultaneously pursued Indo-U.S. strategic ties. This was outlined in the Joint
Strategic Vision for the Asia-Pacific and the Indian Ocean region signed during
President Barack Obama’s visit when he was the guest of honour at the Republic
Day parade in New Delhi. Modi’s
government has played a proactive role in the neighbourhood. Land agreement with Bangladesh and helping Nepal
find its feet after the earthquake and also promising to help them write their
constitution were great moves.
Modi visited a lot
of countries that has resulted in increased business for India. There was one
drawback noticed when Modi visited the US. He was only interested in addressing
the Indian diaspora in a glitzy, rock-star like fashion. He did not speak to
the American public at all. He should have made himself well known to American
public too. The same was the case in other countries too where Modi addressed
the Indian crowd there rather than the local people. The 'Rock Star'
performances abroad did catapult Modi onto the international stage. If anytime
in the future he finds a need to campaign for the UN Chief's post, such
performances will certainly help him.
Some people talk
about the Nehruvian emphasis that is laid on strategic autonomy. What is
Nehruvian about our strategic autonomy? In fact the NDA has corrected the
Nehruvian Pro-Russian servitude by talking to both the U.S and Japan. Nehru's
infatuation with China was to the extent of giving them the Security Council
seat on a platter when both the U.S and USSR were offering it to us. Unfortunately, most of the Indians,
including the editors of the newspapers, have been taught to credit everything
positive about India to Jawaharlal Nehru or his descendents. When will our text
books and also our mindset change? When will we get independence from this
family? Sixty five years since independence seems like a long time.

Dinesh Kamath's Editorial 'Modi government is doing a great job!' that was published in Newsband
Modi government is doing a
great job!
The Narendra Modi
government has a lot to cheer as it enters its second year. Falling deficit both on the current account
and fiscal fronts, and rising foreign exchange reserves, both core and retail
inflation rates have eased – all these are the achievements of Bharatiya Janata
Party government. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has done a great job. It is
clear that better days are really round the corner. There have also been significant reform initiatives in the area of
foreign direct investment covering sectors such as insurance, defence, railways
and construction. Labour law reforms and relaxation of rules for investment by
new categories of Indians living abroad have all been quietly pushed through.
The successful auctioning of coal mine
leases and spectrum is another
achievement. Only the government has been unable to push two crucial pieces of
legislation — the land bill and the GST bill.
But one year is
too small a period to make a comment, compared to previous ten years of misrule.
Efforts seem to be in right direction. Why not wait one more year to see the
effects. The achievements of the government cannot merely be measured in a year’s
span especially after the UPA government had ramshackled every sector of growth
and prosperity causing the expectations of the people to die off. The new
government under Modi is resurging with full pace but what is the cause that it
still doesn't meet to the expectations of the people? The answer lies in the
simple human tendency of impatience and quick result seeking mentality. We need
to give this government a chance to breathe free and not levy our plethora of
expectations simply based out of gut-feeling. Grieving and lamenting over any
government that is new at the office simply does not help. Believing in the
reforms and strategies under implementation will surely bear good results.
It seems that many
Modi haters have still not heard of over 6 crore new bank accounts that have
been opened mainly for the poor and rural people. Or even the old age pension
or the concept of life insurance for the poor. It is good to be skeptical of
the government in a democracy. But that does not mean one has to blindly accept
the propaganda of the opposition parties that have failed the nation for over
half a century.
Our new PM is
working actively to improve countries economic situation like an able CEO. But
we need to understand that it’s not just one or two company. Running a country
is a mammoth task and no one can be good in running all departments
efficiently. Let’s give him his 5 year tenure and see where he leads India to.

Ishqedarriyaan
Ishqedarriyaan is a 2015 Bollywood Romantic film directed
by V. K. Prakash and produced by Rajesh Banga, starring Mahaakshay Chakraborty,
Evelyn Sharma and Mohit Dutta.
Ishqedarriyaan is a story about love, sacrifice, family
values and relationships. Rishteydarriyaan means relationships and
Ishqedarriyaan signifies the relationship when you fall in love! The movie
stars Mahaakshay Chakraborty, Evelyn Sharma and Mohit Dutta. Evelyn Sharma is
the lead actress, who plays the character of Luvleen, a teacher by profession
who wants to collect donations for her grandfather’s school. Mahaakshay
Chakraborty plays Aagam Diwan, a millionaire who loves his profession more than
anything else. Mohit Dutta plays Arjun, a passionate singer.
Luvleen is going through a big crisis in life there is no
money, no Teachers and all she wants is to keep the school running As this was
her Grand Dad's wish! Agam is here to talk to her and give her half of his
wealth. When they meet She takes Agam for a new teacher and Agam just is
speechless on meeting Luvleen, He is totally struck with the simple beauty, He
takes on an identity which Luvleen wants to see and does not reveal the real
reason for the meeting and decides to know her better. During this journey, He
(Agam) gets her funds to run the school and he falls in love with Luvleen and
one day he realizes that Luvleen wants ''Arjun'' (Mohit) (The second character)
and she tells Agam that he is her wish. And then she laughs off this by saying
'' Some dreams are only to see.'' Agam
is heartbroken. He still smiles (While he is crying in his heart) and tells her
that her wish will be granted. Here starts his journey of sacrifice for someone
he has secretly loved. Agam gets them (Arjun and Luvleen) together and also
gets them to finalize the date of the wedding so that they can live happily
thereafter. Will Agam be happy in the Sacrifice he has made towards the girl he
fell in love with? Will Luvleen realize the purpose of Agam coming to her life?
Will Luvleen understand that Agam loved her a lot? Will Arjun understand the
relationship between Agam and Luvleen?

Bollywood film directed by Kundan Shah. The film stars Meenakshi Dixit in lead
role. Dixit, who has appeared in several Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films,
plays role of a prostitute in the film. The film also features Bharat Jadhav,

Akhilendra Mishra, Mushtaq Khan, Upasana Singh, Virendra Saxena, Prerna
Wanvari, Pandharinath Kamble, Indrajeet Soni and Aakash Pandey. The film was
earlier titled Masquerade, but later changed to P Se PM Tak.
P Se PM Tak is a political satire. It’s dark &
grotesque – as dark & as grotesque as the bright comedy in it. It’s a very
vitriolic and an angry take on today’s political scenario. The central idea
revolves around a 200-buck prostitute, on the run and penniless. She lands up
in a town where a by-election is just hotting up. There, she gets caught in the
vortex of political shenaniganism of the by-election and guess what? She ends
up becoming the Chief Minister! Not that she deserves to be – but then, are the
ones in the office any better? This is a story of how a 200-rupee prostitute
became the PM in 4 days?...and then P Se PM Tak!...a 17-minute hilarious
rollicking dead-body climax never before seen on any screen...with an explosive
end.

Dinesh Kamath's Editorial 'Aruna at last dies the formal death' that was published in Newsband
Aruna at last dies the
formal death
After the brutal
rape and strangulation that left her comatose, for more than four long decades,
Aruna Shanbaug lay like a vegetable in an isolated room. Death finally came as
a release to her.
Journalist and
author Pinki Virani fought alone for
the rights of “a body that is not alive but refuses to die”.
The true
compassion lies in letting go of
people who are brain-dead. Everyone
has a right to a dignified death just as each one has a right to dignified life.
While everyone
were debating about whether Aruna should live or die, how come no one is talking about the quantum of punishment given to the
accused, a person who destroyed the life of a Nurse. He was given a 6 year
sentence while Aruna had to suffer for the next 42 years.
Despite her
vegetative state, the people who could have let her die peacefully didn't let
her go. Why? Because they could not face a guilty conscience! But who suffers
the consequences? Let euthanasia be legal. Let's end the struggle and let
people go with dignity.
It is important to
note that euthanasia is legal in developed countries and it should be used for
such cases. However, we need to get away from the social stigma and focus on
the well being of the patient and his/her family and friends. Even if we love
our close ones, it is really tough financially and emotionally to retain the
same amount of love and care. Aruna was an exception as well as lucky to be a
nurse by profession. But most of Indian families cannot afford to keep alive
such patients. The sufferings of the patients should also end by euthanasia.
The medical and
legal world should come together in finding out a legally and medically fit
solution in handling such patients who become a burden physically and
financially to the aides.
When the SC
permitted passive euthanasia in this particular case, and when the family
members of Aruna herself ago in the matter, what was there for her loving
colleagues to keep her ' neither living, nor refusing to die' body in that
state for more than four long decades? They had done a great disservice, by
perpetuating the trauma of Aruna's family members for such a long period. The
lesson from this protracted agony to many is that the court's order and the
family's willingness for passive euthanasia must prevail over all other
influencing factors, in such rarest of rare cases. Is it not more sensible to
make many in the society suffer a few days grief rather than creating
conditions for grieving for more than four decades?

Activists find replanted
trees dying in big number, blame NMMC
By Dinesh Kamath
NAVI MUMBAI: Navi
Mumbai Municipal Corporation had uprooted many trees for development purposes.
These uprooted trees were replanted by NMMC to avoid the fury of environment
activists. But the activists are provoked by the fact that all the replanted
trees are found to be dying. Such replanted trees which are in pitiable
conditions are found in Belapur, Ghansoli, Nerul, Turbhe etc. Are these trees
dying because of inability of civic body to maintain them properly?
When the civic officials were questioned about this, they
claimed to have been carrying out surveys of the replanted trees and taking all
the necessary care to see that they remain in normal condition. They said that
they even give chemical treatment to these trees to ensure their survival.
But both the activists and the local residents claim that
most of the trees replanted by NMMC are dying. The question is whether the
contractors assigned by the civic body to take care of these trees are playing
mischief?
Dinesh Kamath's news 'Issue related to auto menace in Panvel taken to High Court' that was published in Newsband
Issue related to auto menace
in Panvel taken to High Court
By Dinesh Kamath
NAVI MUMBAI: Actually
for autos all over Maharashtra, plying by meters is mandatory. But the meter
system is not followed in autos in Panvel. This has provoked the auto commuters
to such an extent that they have taken the matter to the Bombay high court.
This is because if the auto drivers are given freedom to charge the commuters
any amount they like and not according to meter reading, then these drivers
straightaway charge exorbitant amount – for example, if the meter reading is Rs
20 they ask for Rs 50.
This type of behaviour by the auto drivers has provoked
two NGOs, the Citizens Unity Forum and Janjagran Grahak Manch, into filing a
PIL in the Bombay high court. The petition demands that auto drivers in Panvel
be forced to follow the meter system. City and Industrial Development
Corporation, Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport, Police Commissionerate and RTO
have also been asked to cooperate to fetch justice for commuters who have to
part away with huge amount for a short distance. Even the State Government has
been requested to have a look into this major problem faced by Panvel
residents. These organizations have also been requested to start more bus
services in Panvel so that the residents over there do not have to try for
autos to transport them to their destinations. According to the commuters,
absence of enough bus services is what makes the auto drivers monopolize and
thus harass the commuters. These auto drivers don’t seem to fear even the city
authorities since in spite of innumerable complaints lodged with the concerned
authorities by harassed commuters, the auto drivers continue with their
arrogant behaviour.
Only a favourable high court verdict can for once solve
this problem which has been existing since a long time, feel the harassed commuters.

Dinesh Kamath's Editorial 'Many bills passed – only 3 bills sent to parliamentary panels' that was published in Newsband
Many bills passed – only 3 bills
sent to parliamentary panels
The government got
a great deal of legislative work done during the just-concluded Budget session.
The ruling dispensation succeeded in getting all of 23 Bills — including those
related to the Union Budget and the Railway Budget — through, while Ministers
made 50 statements. It ensured that time lost through disruptions caused by the
Opposition was more than compensated for by the extra hours both Houses sat.
The pieces of
legislation approved by Parliament included not just the one relating to the
historic India-Bangladesh Land Boundary Agreement, but also key reform
measures: the Insurance Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2015; the Mines and Minerals
(Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2015; the Coal Mines (Special
Provisions) Bill, 2015 and the Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2014. And then there
was the Bill that fulfilled an election promise while sending out the message
that the government wants to tackle corruption — the Black Money Undisclosed
Foreign Income and Assets (Imposition of Tax) Bill, 2015
The Opposition
also succeeded in sending three Bills critical to the government’s reform
agenda, to parliamentary panels: they are the Land Acquisition Bill, Bills
relating to Goods and Services Tax and the regulation of the real estate sector.
It is doubtful
whether black money can be curtailed in India despite passing the bill.
Corruption in India is at grassroots level. Modi alone cannot root out
corruption from the country. Onus is on all to ensure all transactions are in
white and there is no black attached.
The black money
bill is nonsensical as it's doomed to fail as black money transaction in property purchase/sale is considered to be
normal and nothing untoward.
The opposition's
only goal seems to be to block the reforms agenda of the government. The
blocking of the GST bill was an act of heightened irresponsibility on the part
of the opposition, especially the Congress. The GST has been discussed, debated
for the last two years. What is the purpose of referring it to a committee
which will probably reinvent the wheel? A rejuvenated Rahul Gandhi may be good
news for the Congress, but it is definitely bad news for national interest
going the way this gentleman is leading the obstructionist brigade in Lok
Sabha.
First of all,
Bills and Statutory arrangements seem to be decided more on the basis of
political ideologies and certain whims and fancies of Top groups and leaders,
on the basis of certain perceived importance and needs, than on real Ground
level needs. For example, the country's biggest problem today is that of the
Farmer, followed by security concerns both inside and outside. But nothing
seems to be done on these, left aside as if they are no problems at all.
Second, the Opposition, whoever they are, seem to think that their only agenda
is to just oppose whatever the Government tries to do, even by creating
pandemonium in the Parliament. The money spent in conducting Parliament runs in
Crores of rupees, and inefficiency in operating the Parliament sessions seems
to fritter away almost 50% of this money. Is there no way to end such impasse'
in Parliament? The happenings inside Parliament do not speak well of our
Parliamentarians
In the just
concluded session of the parliament, Rahul Gandhi's new found belligerence has
nothing to do with the future of the Country but everything to do with his and
only with his political future. History is glaring at us. The history of his
grandmother resorting to such empty rhetoric from early seventies that
ultimately resulted in our having to physically move our gold reserves two
decades later to avoid a crisis. That moment was bad.

NAVI MUMBAI: “Nowadays,
obscene pictures are being displayed in a big way all over the country. Movies,
dramas, advertisements etc – all are full of obscenity. This is affecting the
young generations. The occurrences of rapes and molestations are owing to the
display of such obscene pictures. It is a shame that celebrities like Deepika
Padukone, Ekta Kapoor and others support such display of obscenity. Bollywood
film star Sunny Leone is the worst when it comes to displaying obscene gestures
and postures. She is destroying the morals of young generation in India. To
prevent the young generation from being affected, such display of obscenity
should stop. Also, this type of thing is against the Indian culture. Sunny
Leone should be driven out of India before she spoils the modern generation of
India. Ban should be put on all the obscene movies being displayed in the
theatres of India,” said Dr Uday Dhuri during the agitation staged by all the
Hindu Organisations, especially Rashtriya Hindu Andolan, outside Vashi railway
station.
These Hindu organizations and Rashtriya Hindu Andolan will
be creating such public awareness not only in Navi Mumbai but all over
Maharashtra and India. They also opposed the grabbing of gold belonging to Hindu
Temple in the name of development and also omission of the sacred word ‘Om’ in
the field of Yoga. A huge number of people had gathered outside Vashi railway
station to display their support to this agitation against display of
obscenity.

Dinesh Kamath's Editorial 'Settle border dispute with China first and foremost' that was published in Newsband
Settle border dispute with
China first and foremost
The three-day
visit to China by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was quite useful. Modi and
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang sought to address some of the concerns over the
nature of the economic relationship. The
signing of 26 agreements detailing commercial investments worth $22 billion
between companies signifies the growing economic ties.
But the strategic
distance remains. The boundary dispute did find mention in the joint statement.
There was the assurance that both sides would seek to maintain peace at the
border as they worked towards a solution. Modi emphasized that India
seeks to build concomitant ties with other world powers.
Nations requires
respect to each other territorial sovereignty. How can a nation take a solace
of economic relationship when its land is usurped by China for decades? Among all the issues pertaining to the
Indo-Chinese relationship, the border dispute issue is the most important of
all. Why can’t we make similar agreement as the India-Bangladesh Border
segregation with China as well? Once and for all, the dispute will be done over
with and people living in the vulnerable zone would be emancipated from all
worries.
While the
negotiated agreements have been entered into for trade between India and China,
the PM did not discuss anything about dumping of Chinese made cheap quality and
health hazardous goods in India. Across India, such goods are marketed at every
traffic junction and in shops. The Government loses taxes and these goods cause
serious health problem to children. Indian government must impose anti-dumping
duty of all such goods or ban such products in India. Modi should have
registered strong protest against China’s supply of nuclear and missile
technology to terror states like Pakistan.
The relationship
that China wants with India is one that an imperial power wants with a vassal
state. The message was unmistakably conveyed by the aggressive incursion by the
red army during the Chinese president's visit to India. China's claim into AP
is also an aggressive attempt at expansion into an area where China has never
had an historical presence.
For a healthy,
stable and prosperous relationship with China, India will have to build up its
nuclear and conventional forces to deter an adventure by a resurgent China.
That will pave the way for mutually beneficial economic ties.
There is no doubt
that India and China have gained more confidence in dealing with each other in
the last two decades in spite of hiccups now and then. However, India is not
convinced at all of the long term objectives of China. Indeed, all Asian
nations, except Pakistan, are fearful of the 'peaceful rise' of China
especially after the assumption of power by Xi Jinping who has amassed all
powers to himself. His idea of a 'Chinese Dream', among other things, is to
reverse Deng Xiaoping's 'taoguang yanghui' or 'hide your strength and bide for
time' because he either seems to feel that the time has come for China or it is
better to divert the Chinese attention elsewhere so as to mitigate the economic
slowdown within or he feels that the 'window of opportunity' will slip away
otherwise or a combination of all these. The 'One Belt One Road' and MSR
initiatives are surreptitious ways to establish hegemony through apparently
benign means. India must be aware of the duplicitous policy.
Modi has signalled
that India does not consider China as a permanent adversary or a rival while at
the same time conveying the message that China has to be more sensitive to
India's concerns. China must realize that the border dispute can no longer be
used as a bargaining chip to needle India as and when it likes. The rise of a
world power cannot always be on its own terms. The world is too big and diverse
to settle for a unipolar global regime.

New movies released in Navi

Tanu Weds Manu: Returns
Tanu Weds Manu: Returns is a Hindi romantic comedy film
directed by Anand L. Rai. The film is a sequel to Tanu Weds Manu (2011), in
which stars Kangana Ranaut and R. Madhavan who reprise their roles from the
original. The music and background score is composed by Krsna Solo and the
lyrics are penned by Raj Shekhar. In this film Ranaut also portrays the
additional role of a Haryanvi athlete.
The film has an interesting plot. It’s been four years
since Tanu and Manu’s eventful wedding and they’re already feeling the seven
year itch. Settled in London, their relationship is now as cold as the London
winter. While Tanu expected her husband to be as flamboyant and star-like as
Shahrukh Khan, Manu wanted a docile and peaceful wife. While Manu was
regretting his marriage, his old friend Pappi was excited about his. Tanu and
Manu decide to give their marriage one last chance on their trip to India for
Pappi’s wedding. After reaching Kanpur, Tanu immediately transitions to her old
self. Her new neighbour Chintu becomes her partner-in-crime and visiting old
boyfriends and bike rides with him become a daily affair. Her actions had
successfully managed to give Kanpur a taste of America. The situation worsens
when Manu, now in Delhi, starts falling for a Delhi University student, Datto
who looks exactly like Tanu. Things keep aggravating in both the cities as Raja
Awasthi, Tanu’s ex-fiancee re-enters her life. So what happens next in their
love story? Where does all this drama take them? Do they manage to work on
their relationship? Does Pappi finally end up getting married to the love of
his life or does his life get twisted as well? Take this roller coaster ride
called marriage one more time with Tanu, Manu and Datto in this romantic comedy
Tanu Weds Manu Returns. IS MANU – Still in love with Tanu? OR – Falling For Datto?

Tomorrowland
Tomorrowland (titled Disney Tomorrowland: A World Beyond
in the United Kingdom) is a 2015 American science fiction mystery adventure
film directed by Brad Bird, and co-written and produced by Bird and Damon
Lindelof. The film stars George Clooney, Britt Robertson, Hugh Laurie, Raffey
Cassidy, Thomas Robinson, Kathryn Hahn, Tim McGraw, Keegan-Michael Key, and
Judy Greer.
Frank (George Clooney) and Casey (Britt Robertson) travel
to a place somewhere in time and space only known as Tomorrowland where their
actions directly affect the world and themselves.
Casey, the daughter of a NASA engineer (played,
inexplicably, by Tim McGraw), gets arrested for trying to save her father's
job, as well as a NASA structure that apparently means a lot to her. Upon being
released, she acquires a pin from the 1964 World's Fair, given to her by a
mysterious young girl (Raffey Cassidy in what should be a star-making
performance). When Casey touches the pin, she's transported to a utopian
city…sort of. The futuristic city, all sky-scarping structures and gleaming
glass and majestic monuments, seems to exist in one realm while Casey still
physically remains in this one.
So Casey, a curious young woman with a stubborn streak to
match her fervid intellect, embarks on a journey to find out what it all means.
Soon, robots are trying to disintegrate her. Enter grumpy George Clooney and
his cadre of fancy gizmos and gadgets. He knows something about Tomorrowland
and could help Casey if only he’d stop being so grumpy.
Above all else, Bird has crafted a gorgeous world rife
with creativity and inventive images.
Poltergeist
Poltergeist is an American 3D supernatural
thriller-fantasy horror film directed by Gil Kenan, written by David
Lindsay-Abaire and produced by Sam Raimi. A reboot and remake of Steven
Spielberg's and Tobe Hooper's 1982 film of the same name, the film stars Sam
Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, Jared Harris, and Jane Adams.
The film has an interesting plot. This film re-imagines
the classic Tobe Hooper tale about a family whose suburban home is invaded by
angry spirits. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks inside a
suburban house in a quiet wealthy neighborhood and take the family's youngest
daughter, the family must come together to rescue her.
A successful real estate agent Eric (Sam Rockwell) has
recently been laid off from his job; his wife, Amy (Rosemarie DeWitt), is no
longer simply a homemaker, but rather an unsuccessful writer who effectively
functions as a homemaker.
Faced with financial pressures, the two have moved their
three children to an idyllic yet permanently overcast suburban community. These
kids include bratty teenager Kendra (Saxon Sharbino), cherubic 6-year-old
Madison (Kennedi Clements), and middle child Griffin (Kyle Catlett), who is
afflicted with a level of anxiety and is the first to notice strange, ghostly
phenomena in their new abode.
All three youngsters are chained to their phones, tablets
and remote-controlled drones, which are employed to mildly novel use
throughout. T0he kids are being attacked by demonic clown dolls and reanimated
corpses, and Madison, magnetically drawn to a malfunctioning TV set, is quickly
abducted by the house’s malevolent spirits. From here, Kenan mimics the story
beats of the original almost exactly, as the family turns first to a paranormal
academic (Jane Adams), and later to a flamboyant medium (Jared Harris) to try
to rescue their little one.
Big Game
Big Game is a 2014 Finnish action adventure film directed
by Jalmari Helander, based on the 2013 book of the same name. The film stars
Samuel L. Jackson, Onni Tommila, Felicity Huffman, Victor Garber, Ted Levine,
Jim Broadbent, and Ray Stevenson.
The film has an interesting story. In the rugged
countryside of Finland, a young thirteen-year-old (Onni Tommila) embarks on a
traditional quest to prove himself by spending 24 hours alone in the wild,
armed with only a bow and arrow. After witnessing a spectacular crash, he
discovers the escape pod from Air Force One, containing the President of the
United States (Samuel L. Jackson). When they realize a group of kidnappers is
hot on their trail with the intention of taking the president, this unlikely
duo must escape their hunters as they search for the American Special Forces
team sent out to find them
Jackson stars as the President of the United States,
who's travelling aboard Air Force One to a pre-G8 summit in Helsinki when
disaster strikes. Someone, it seems, has disabled the plane's defensive
capabilities. An inside man? As a missile careers towards the jet courtesy of
some Middle Eastern Revolutionaries, our president is manhandled into an
evacuation pod by shifty Secret Service agent Morris (Ray Stevenson) and
jettisoned deep into the Nordic wilderness.
Jackson's Leader of the Free World is a bona fide wimp,
incapable of handling himself in a fight and certainly not versed in the ways
of cocking an automatic weapon. Fortunately a saviour comes in the shape of a
13-year-old bowman called Oscari (Onni Tommie), who is on a rite-of-passage
mission to spend 24 hours in the wilderness alone and bag himself his first
ever stag.
The problem is, Oscari can barely bend his bowstring to
shoot an arrow, so when the terrorists turn up, what ensues is a knowingly daft
cavalcade of one-sided scraps, helicopter chases and Jackson taking a tumble
down a mountain in a chest freezer. "Instead of looking tough," says
Oscari, "we have to be tough."
Extraordinaari
Extraordinaari is a film produced by Sunil Kumar Bansal,
directed by Sunanda Shyamal Mitra with cast consisting of Rituparna Sengupta,
Abhishek Gupta, Flossey Fernandes, Shahbaz Khan, Mahi Kaur, Charu Verma and
Waqar Khan. Lyrics are by Ravi Basnet & Traditional and music by Hriju Roy.
The movie has an interesting plot. Extraordinaari (2015)
Hindi Movie depicts a story of a woman who derives passion for an unique
challenge of carving out models from 10 underprivileged women in the society.
She works rigorously to teach them up despite facing several adversities but
finally succeeds in winning an essential beauty pageant event along with her
team thus proving the reality that “Nothing Can Stop A Desperate Woman”.
