We now live in a world that is more digitally connected than ever before. The Internet touches almost all aspects of everyone’s daily life, whether we realize it or not…  Modes of crime are shifting gears too…  Be, it banking transaction, Data security, Social media, which is an open gateway for such crime including terrorism recruitment etc. It has affected most of the people/citizen life in big or small ways. We don’t know who the suspect is? How common people get trapped of such act without realising it. Because Internet is anonymous and there is no jurisdiction.

Recognizing the importance of cyber security for our Nation and our city Navi Mumbai, We, the Navi Mumbai Police Department has designed program to engage and educate public and private sector partners through events and initiatives with the goal of “raising awareness about cyber security” and increasing the resiliency of the nation in the event of a cyber-cases/incident.

Therefore Motto for Cyber Safety Week 2015 is “Cyber Space – Be Aware, Be Secure” It means staying protected while you are connected, with our daily evolving digital life.

Who is participating?

We all live in “smart world”; our city is competing for the ranking position for smart city. We all use smart devices like phone, tablets, devices at home and offices – being connected to internet most of the time. Practically technology is driving our future life…

This invitation goes to all the people connected to this smart world (Cyber) the cyber space and this includes banking and insurance sector, IT industry, E-commerce, Corporates, Social media partners, netizen and citizen of Navi Mumbai.

•         Advance Persistent trick (APT) – Use of advance manware to hit country. This is state sponsor activity e.g. China wants to hit Indian economy, know what ONGC is doing/working. or Russia wants to hit some country.

•         Internet of thing (IOT) – Device to Device connections this is primarily, monitoring and sensing the incident of human being and sending an alert message about event occurrence.
