“UMANG” celebrates
first anniversary on 19 December 2015

NAVI MUMBAI: “Umang” a group of senior citizens, residents of 128
flats in Shanti Sagar Apartments (SSAOA), Sector 10, Vashi, celebrated its
first anniversary on 19 December, 2015.
On
this occasion a lecture cum presentation on “Waste management for a Clean City”
was conducted by Dr. Balasaheb Rajale, Dy. Commissioner, NMMC, Waste Managemnt,
and Dr. Mrs. Varsha Bhagat, Director ETC, NMMC. This was the first ever such
program conducted in Navi Mumbai in a housing society. A presentation on “e-Waste
Management” was delivered by Mrs. Rashmi Joshi, Head ,Waste Management, Stree
Mukti Sangathana. This program was organized by the Director “Anvay Foundation”
- (A vyasan mukti organization), Dr. Ajit Magdum, and “Stree Mukti Sangathana”
founder Director, Prof. Mrs Vrushali Magdum in association with “Umang”.
Shri
Dnyaneshwar Bhoir, President, and Shri Ashokan, Secretary, SSAOA thanked the
dignitaries for their guidance and assured them of full support of the society
for the noble cause.
The
“Umang” group and all residents of Shanti Sagar celebrated their first
anniversary with music and drama and the Christmas festival by singing of
melodious Christmas Carols by the young children and cutting a large cake.
Santa Claus distributed sweets. The society and the large Christmas tree was
nicely lit up with sparkling lights.
The
residents pledged to continue to work for a happy and purposeful living.
