Tanushree Dutta has made short film based on Bollywood's sexual
harassment stories. She will feature in the film titled Inspiration and has
also penned the dialogues for it. It is inspired from her own experiences of
sexual harassment in Bollywood.
Many movie-goers are looking forward to watch the film based on the ordeal
of victims who faced sexual harassment in Bollywood. Tanushree, who is
currently residing in New Jersey, United States of America, had planned to
release the film, titled Inspiration, on March 8, which is also observed as
International Women's Day.
The actress is considered to be the flag bearer of MeToo movement in
Bollywood. In the wake of Tanushree's claims, many celebrities and filmmakers
from the industry were also accused of sexually harassing women colleagues on
film sets and off it.
The actor had shot for
Inspiration, an Atul Bhalla-directed project, during her eight-month stay in
Mumbai last year. She was approached
by Ullu, the online content platform that is producing the film. She plays a
guardian angel who inspires the girls to make the right decision,
She wrote the dialogues, inspired by her own insight and understanding
on the matter. She was excited to face the camera after nine years because this
time, she was not only entertaining but also imparting wisdom to the misled and
unfortunate,
Thus Tanushree Dutta is making a comeback in a short film after being
away from the limelight for quite some time. The actor, who made big waves during
the MeToo Movement will have her own ‘say’ in the screens with a short
documentary.
The short film will bring into light the dark stories of sexual in
Bollywood onscreen that has been titled, ‘Inspiration’. It deals with the issue
of wilful exploitation of young newcomers in showbiz or any other field where
they don’t have mentors or guidance. It
is a new format where reality meets fiction. Titled Inspiration, the movie is said to be a collection of sexual
harassment stories in Bollywood
Tanushree Dutta inspired many women to call out their abusers, mostly
high-profile men of the industry.
Tanushree Dutta was last seen in 2010 release Apartment opposite Rohit
Roy and Neetu Chandra.
Tanushree Dutta is an Indian model and actress who primarily appears in
Bollywood movies. Dutta is the recipient of Femina Miss India Universe title in
2004. During the same year at the Miss Universe beauty pageant, she was among
the top ten finalists.
She hit depression after being traumatized on one of the Bollywood sets.
This made her take a break and try recuperation using eastern spirituality.
Initially, she stayed at an ashram for one and a half years but that did not
help. Then, she went to Ladakh where she learn some Buddhist meditation related
breathing techniques. These techniques eventually brought her out of
depression. She was also advised Vipassana meditation. Tanushree credits this
lesser known Buddhist monastery in Ladakh for bringing her life back to normal.
She said that she also learnt some lessons from this experience
She made her first debut in Kollywood in Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai.
She made her Bollywood début in 2005, appearing in Chocolate and Aashiq Banaya
Aapne. In 2006 She has also appeared in song "Jab Kabhie" in 36 China
Town.
Tanushree Dutta’s fans are looking forward to see how her film
‘Inspiration’ will fare after its release.
