NAVI MUMBAI: Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation is seriously considering constructing a playground at sector 4 Airoli especially after the residents of this place have pressurized them to do so.
The local corporator Hemangi Sonawane wishes to persuade NMMC authorities to come up with a playground which is the urgent requirement in Airoli. She has decided to make this demand in writing and thus make it official.
The fact is at one stage the work on the playground had begun here. But suddenly the work stopped.
The parents of the children residing in Airoli are the worried ones owing to the fact that their children tend to play on the roads owing to the absence of a playground. According to them, playing on the roads is dangerous for their children and hence considering the seriousness of the situation, NMMC should construct a playground over here.
A spokesman for NMMC said that there are talks about coming up with a playground at Airoli and this project might cost around Rs 2 crore. “NMMC will have to work upon certain things like completing the tender formalities etc. before implementing their plan. The civic body has already chosen the land for the said work,” he said.

The news that NMMC is most likely to come up with a playground at Airoli has brightened the spirits of residents, particularly the children, over here. The local corporator Hemangi Sonawane has agreed to take up the initiative to compel NMMC into keeping their promise of constructing the playground in Airoli.
