Dinesh Kamath's Editorial 'Pollutants in the air' that was published in Newsband

Pollutants in the air
There are deadly pollutants that pervade the air causing terrible illness and premature death. A survey indicated that the concentration of the most significant inhalable pollutant has been growing in India. The cause of these pollutants are burning of agricultural biomass and coal, open burning of garbage and straw,  use of diesel-powered vehicles and burning of crop residues.
The survey also indicates that there is a steady deterioration in air quality in many countries, especially South Asia, dominated by India. What is the solution to this problem?
Easy access to cheap solar cookers and biogas plants will also cut open burning, and help the rural economy. In the most polluted cities, even moderate physical activity could prove harmful, rather than be beneficial, as new research indicates. It is time that fossil fuels were limited. Polluting vehicles must be taken off the road. New green fuels must be used for road vehicles. Otherwise the very environment that Humans live in will be destroyed.
While it is commendable to send multiple satellite to space, the need has risen for scientists in India to save millions from the catastrophic ill effects of pollution that causes death and suffering to millions. Last year, during Diwali month, there was terrible air pollution caused. It is necessary for the government to take initiative to curb the pollution and we should focus on being more ecofriendly.
If we want to live in a healing environment we have to do something along with government. We have to move towards another alternative rather than coal based fuel.

The deadly pollutants in the air that we breathe reduces the life line. The agro waste burning is a process to dispose the straws but the smoke causes harm to the air and the people who breathe such polluted air meets premature death. The best way is to see constructive methods of disposing the waste such as converting them into cheap insulators and urban air pollution can be controlled by reducing the number of vehicles and to block vehicles without road fitness. The odd and even number formula yields little but causes more trouble to car users. Anyway the country must tune up the mechanism to prevent the pollution caused by agro waste and oil bound vehicles.
