AIROLI: The first phase of work on jogging track at Airoli will get completed within a few weeks. The special features of this jogging track will be the green corridor, seating arrangements, yoga space, recreational area and study zone for students. The seats that are provided will prove useful to senior citizens who will find the need to relax after having had a long morning walk. The younger ones can utilize the space meant for yoga. The studious ones can make use of study zone while those inclined towards sports can make the best of the recreational area that is provided.
Airoli has quite many residents who will find this jogging track very useful. There are quite many senior citizens residing here who are looking forward to witness the completion of this track so that they can enjoy the benefits of the track. It was Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation who undertook the work of constructing this jogging track especially after MLA Sandeep Naik agreed to part with a huge amount from his MLA fund. Naik felt that he should contribute towards the construction of this track after many residents of Navi Mumbai made a demand for such a place. They also convinced Naik that a jogging track was their urgent need since there was no proper space elsewhere where they could enjoy the morning walk. Senior citizens, women and even youngsters will find this jogging track useful.
The area from Ganesh Mandir at sector-17 to D-Mart in sector-10 has been utilized for construction of this track. The track has been designed by keeping in mind the environmental aspect. To make it look greener, more trees will be planted here. The residents of Navi Mumbai are excited about the fact that a jogging track which is very spacious and also full of greenery is about to come up in their city.
After the first phase is completed and handed to public for using the track, the focus will then be diverted to the second phase in which the area towards Ghansoli and Koperkhairane and another towards Kalwa will be utilized. This will make possible for the residents of both Vashi and Thane to be in a position to use the jogging track. Once the track is completed, it is bound to prove to be another feather in NMMC’s cap.
