To observe the day positively Navi Mumbai Press Club had organized a cricket tournament at Bharatratna Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, CBD Belapur. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Sagar Naik, Mayor of Navi Mumbai and Mr. Manoj Jalnawala, President of Navi Mumbai Press Club. The Participating teams were Navi Mumbai Police Officers Team, Builders Association of Navi Mumbai Team, Maharashtra State Electricity Board Team, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Officers Team, Navi Mumbai Advocate Association Team and Navi Mumbai Press Club Team. Sterling Wockhardt Hospitals provided its emergency services with dedicated ambulance and paramedical staff for the cricket tournament.

On the occasion, Wockhardt Hospitals, Vashi - Centre Head Mr. Nishant Jaiswal acknowledged the great contribution of Media in transforming the society, at all levels and creating well informed citizens in the concurrent times. He emphasized that Cricket tournament organized to celebrate the Journalist Day was an opportunity for all the participants to break the shells of stressed work schedules and live the moments of energy and sportsmanship.
