Former police commissioner’s idea
used to strengthen the women police squad

NAVI MUMBAI: During the past few years, there were
many crimes committed against women in Navi Mumbai. Navi Mumbai police
commissionerate did do their bit to control such crimes against women. It
adopted all types of tactics to check such crimes against females in
particular.
There were complaints
about crimes like rape, molestation and eve-teasing pouring into the police
stations in the city. The residents of the city made many suggestions to the police
to control such crimes.
At last the
police authorities of Navi Mumbai came up with a brilliant idea of forming a
women police squad which was to specialize in the matter of preventing crimes
against women. The members of this squad were told to focus particularly on the
problem relating to eve-teasing. Many residents of the city felt that this was
a good idea which was being implemented by Navi Mumbai police authorities. The
squad was formed by selecting those police women who had proved their mettles
while working in the police department. These members of women police squad
were provided with vehicles and other equipments which could strengthen the
squad to the extent required.
Just recently, the
police authorities came up with another brilliant idea of equipping this women
police squad with latest technological gadgets. It has been decided that this
squad will use android tab to be able to detect the cases of eve-teasing faster
and thus preventing such kinds of happenings in the city. The android tab will enable
top policemen to capture live happenings on the city streets.
The credit for
introduction of this tab goes to former police commissioner Ahmad Javed who
first came up with this idea. The tab is connected to the police control room
in Belapur and here the senior policemen will be in a position to witness live
any ugly incident. The tab is 3G enabled and has a very advanced software
installed in it.
This addition of
android tab to their already existing weapons will make the women police squad
much tougher and in a position to deal with eve-teasers more easily.
