NAVI MUMBAI: Two
new NMMC hospitals in Airoli and Nerul are all set to start functioning. The
health department of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation had to give in to the
pressure applied on them by both residents and local government and try to make
these hospitals functional at the earliest.
The residents were very much concerned about the rise in
number of patients suffering from malaria, dengue and swine flu owing to which
they felt the urgent need of more hospitals in the city to attend to these
cases. In the meanwhile the health department of NMMC is also taking steps to
control the spread of these diseases.
Both
the hospitals will specially be provided with pediatrics and maternity wards.
Vashi and Kopakhairane already have civic hospitals and it has been decided to
deploy the staff of these two hospitals in the two new hospitals in Airoli and
Nerul which is all set to become functional.
