NAVI MUMBAI: Vashi’s
Vishnudas Bhave Auditorium will soon have a library of its own. Navi Mumbai
Municipal Corporation is working on this idea. The civic body will also do the repair-work
of the auditorium wherever damages are noticed.
Having a library in this auditorium was the idea of some
members of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena. MNS workers were also very keen about making
use of the auditorium to show Marathi films. “When all types of programs are
being conducted here, why not give special preference to Marathi films?” – this
was their question. The idea that films made in local language could fetch big
revenue appealed to NMMC authorities.
Plans are being worked out with technical experts along
this direction and an attempt will be made to make the library so spacious that
maximum books can be accommodated in it. There are other works like having a
high quality audio system and upgrading of air-conditioning system in the
auditorium which will be executed. Both the engineering department and
technical department of NMMC are seriously working on this idea of renovating
the auditorium and having a library in it.
