VASHI: The
Power of love & commitment - the Jethro Daniel Story, a documentary was
screened during the Memorial service on 21st August 2015 at Vashi,
Navi Mumbai where hundreds turned up to be a part of this unique evening. He
was just 19 years when he passed away on 19th July 2015.
During the program, a book called 'Don't Mess Around',
compilation of poems by Jethro Daniel, who inspite of being diagnosed as
affected by Cerebral Palsy and Microcephally, was released at the hands of Lata
& Daniel Victor, the parents for it to be circulated to thousands of Navi
Mumbaikars through the Heart Foundation and the Jethro Educational Trust.
“Jethro’s poems touches very significant topics of life for mankind such as 'mind',
'work', 'honesty', 'humility', 'pride' etc. Comments on each of these poems
added by his dad Daniel Victor, appeal to humanity to regard life seriously and
respectfully to usher in personal change and societal change” said Dr. Jayakar
Ellis, President, Heart Foundation. “We hope to go to schools, colleges, and
various educational institutes to spread the Power of Love and Commitment that
has been given birth by this amazing child” he added.
“Each of us have individual contributions to make, to the
building of society and the nation. 'You change your habit to change your
character and the change of character will change our future' was a favorite
statement that India's former President Abdul Kalam oft repeated” said Daniel
Victor.
One of Jethro's poems in 'Don't Mess Around' goes like
this, “Your mind is the place where
battles are fought; you strengthen it with good, for you to be a victor;
you let it to be filled with evil, for
you to be a failure" said Lata Daniel, the mother, with tears swelling up
in her eyes.
