NMMC has done a yeomen job
Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) is normally criticized for not solving problems of the citizens of Navi Mumbai. But there are times when NMMC does excellent service to the people living within its jurisdiction. One of the best things that NMMC has done is installing of computerized radiography system (CRS) at its Vashi hospital. This system provides the patients quality service at affordable rates. This system is any day better than the previous systems that were being used earlier for simple reasons that it gives a better view of a patient's anatomy, saves time and sticks to quality norms.
The previous system would give poor quality X-ray films. But CRS gives the doctors a top quality X-ray films which enables him to diagnose the patient's ailment faster and accordingly provide the right medication or treatment. CRS provides even the minutest details of the patient's affected body part. It can even show a hairline fracture clearly. This system enables the doctors study fracture in detail. This system can also take X-ray film of a patient who is in plaster. It can even give a clear view of the ailment that such patients are suffering from.
CRS helps in saving both doctors' and patients' time. It also saves patient's money. Another thing is time factor. Earlier, to get X-ray copy of a patient's hand would take 45 minutes. Now it takes just 15 minutes. As a result of this development the doctors are able to check and provide treatments to more patients everyday.
CRS helps the doctor to view the patient's X-ray report directly on his computers. The doctor need not wait for the hard copy to be shown. This is because the computers are connected through LAN. This helps the doctor particularly during emergency.
Another wonderful thing about CRS is its part called Picture Archiving Computerized System (PACS). The film taken by CRS can be stored in PACS that can save details of a patient for 20 years. Doctors can refer to these details whenever they want and that too with ease and at once. Doctors can also take out the printout of the film. In a medico-legal case, this report can be submitted to the concerned court without any hassles.
Thus NMMC has done a yeomen job by introducing CRS in its hospital since it can give the patient the service at a very low rate and that too without compromising on the quality. Congrats, NMMC!
