Inorbit Malls, Vashi joins hands with Child Rights and You (CRY) to spread awareness about child labor through ‘OPEN YOUR EYES’ exhibition and campaign on July 26 and 27.

The campaign, a part of CRYs Click Rights initiative, hopes to draw attention to the state of child laborers in our country, a social phenomenon that is on a rise, eating away into our nation’s future. Here are some facts:

•        10.1 million child laborers in India between the ages 5-14!

•        22% rise in number of working children between 5-9 years of age!

Through this initiative, CRY wishes to connect with the patrons at Inorbit Malls, Vashi and sensitize them to the taboo called child labor – a cures that not only deprives children of their education, their mental and physical development but also steals their childhood.

Inorbit Malls, Vashi seconds CRY in the belief that Zero Tolerance is the only way to combat child labor. To spread awareness about this issue in India, CRY will have 40” LED TVs installed in the mall, which will exhibit various photographs depicting hard lives of child laborers. Volunteers of CRY will create a 4x4 feet size puzzle that will display different lives of working children and school-going children. They will also be interacting with the patrons to make them aware of the child labour situation in the country and how they can help to eradicate it.

To encourage the volunteers and patrons, Music Melody band will perform the songs in support of this awareness programme. Bring your children along for the painting competition and other art and craft activities at the mall.

This weekend, come join on this mission to get India to ‘Open your eyes’ and say NO to Child Labour, only at Inorbit malls, Vashi.
