VASHI: Navi Mumbai Press Club under the
presidentship of Manoj Jalnawalla had organized a dinner party for top
government officers of Navi Mumbai at Hotel Fortune on Palm Beach Road at
Vashi. Many prominent government officers of the city attended this party and
made it a memorable one.
Navi Mumbai’s
police commissioner K L Prasad used this occasion to make everyone present
aware about the importance of maintaining law and order in the city. He
stressed upon the fact that there is urgent need to lessen crime rate in the
city. He said that the city consisted of residents belonging to all castes,
creeds and religions. He called upon all these people to co-exist peacefully.
He also appealed to them to assist the Navi Mumbai police force whenever their
help was needed to ensure maintenance of law and order in the city.
Navi Mumbai’s Municipal
Commissioner said that this city attracted many people residing beyond its
jurisdiction and hence there is continuous in-flow of new comers in the city
which has been keeping the population on the rise. He assured that Navi Mumbai
Municipal Corporation will continue to live up to its responsibilities in spite
of all the challenges it is facing. He expressed the pride that all officials
of NMMC felt for having received many state and national awards so far. This
has given a tremendous boost to NMMC as well as the city, he said.
Many prominent
journalists too had attended this party and some of them displayed their
singing talents and thus entertained the gathering to a great degree.
