Crime against women in Navi Mumbai

NAVI MUMBAI: State capital Mumbai recorded 10.35 per cent of all crimes committed against women that were reported from Maharashtra in 2012.

Of the 17,800 cases of crime against women recorded in the state, Navi Mumbai was third on the list with 824 incidents (4.63 per cent).

Navi Mumbai also recorded 36 incidents of rape in 2012.

There were 11 cases of kidnapping and abduction of women recorded in Navi Mumbai.

There were also some human trafficking offences recorded in Navi Mumbai.
