Madhuri does stunt scenes in Navi Mumbai
By Dinesh Kamath

NAVI MUMBAI: Madhuri Dixit-Nene was in Navi Mumbai recently to shoot for the film Gulaab Gang which is directed by Soumik Sen and produced by Anubhav Sinha.
During the shooting she was seen in an aggressive avatar, complete with weapons and blood on her face.
Gulaab Gang involves an all women gang led by Madhuri. It is an action film with Madhuri herself doing many action scenes. She has done even the stunts all by herself.
Since she is a dancer she had no problem doing the action scenes. She displayed perfect balance and flexibility while fighting the villains. During the shooting in Navi Mumbai she was shown as delivering kicks with utmost ease.
Madhuri had undergone a lot of training from well-known Shaolin master Shifu Kanishka Sharma. She had been undergoing extensive training for hours together in the past. During the shoot, she had absolutely no problem and she finished her action sequences in one or two takes.
Madhuri had to deliver a kick to one of the actors after jumping off a truck and this scene she did as if it was a child’s play. She surprised the stunt directors Parvez and Firoz by the ease with which she gave those shots. These stunt masters initially were apprehensive about whether Madhuri would be able to give those shots. They thought they would have to go for many retakes before getting perfect shots from Madhuri. But they were stunned when Madhuri gave all the shots in hardly one or two takes.
For one particular shot she climbed the truck without any help or efforts and jumped off and kicked a person who was supposed to be a villain. She did it so effortlessly that any action hero would have felt ashamed to watch a female doing in two takes a stunt which he would have needed many retakes.

Madhuri has a full-fledged role in Gulaab Gang. The last film in which she did the main heroine’s role was Aaja Nachle in 2007.
