Chashme Baddoor (2013 film)
Chashme Baddoor (English translation: Far be the evil eye) is a Bollywood
adult comedy film directed by David
Dhawan. The film stars Ali Zafar,
Siddharth, Taapsee Pannu and Divyendu
Sharma in lead roles. It is a remake of the 1981 film of same name.
Chashme Baddoor unveils in sandy Goa , where
three cheery buddies – Sid, Jai and Omi – watch each other’s backs as they
dodge rent and food bills, and chase women, without a shame.
Of the three, two are fairly audacious in their love escapades
and are unsurprisingly left without a woman by their side. The lone simpleton
cheers them on, and watches the fun, until they all end up wooing for the same
girl.
She’s perky, cheery and literally runs away from any wedding
alliance her military dad brings home.
Backed by her dad’s 'civilian' twin, she eliminates the
lecherous duo and eventually skips a heartbeat for the one “who speaks through
his heart”.
The film has Ali Zafar
as Siddharth Parashar, Siddharth Narayan as Jomo (Jai Lakhanpal), Taapsee Pannu as Seema, Divyendu Sharma
as Omi, Rishi Kapoor as Mr. Joseph,
Juhi Chawla in a surprise role, Anupam Kher in a triple role, Lilette Dubey as Miss Josephine, Bharti
Achrekar, Ayaz Khan in a villainous role and Varun Dhawan in a cameo
This remake was filmed in Goa ,
India and
produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.
The film has been re-written by the original director, Sai Paranjpye. It's a different film from Sai's ... young, a little over-the-top, adapted to modern times and
coloured by David's sensibilities.
The music of the film is composed by the duo Sajid-Wajid. Musicperk.com rated the album 6.5/10 quoting "Har Ek friend and Dichkyaoon are the picks of the album".
The film has songs like Har
Ek Friend Kamina Hota Hai, Dhichkyaaon Doom Doom, Early Morning, Ishq Mohallah , Andha Ghoda Race Mein Dauda, Dhichkyaaon Doom
Doom (Version 2) and Early Morning
(Remix).
