City police help slum kids to develop their personality
By Dinesh Kamath
NAVI MUMBAI: Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-I) Purushottam Karad has come up with an idea of conducting Personal Development Programmes for the benefit of children belonging to slum areas. He has appointed the firm called Mustard Seed Training for this job.
This Personal Development Programme is meant specially for slum kids. It is to prevent them from becoming anti-social elements and enable them to live their lives with dignity. These children who attend the personality development sessions are given certificates after the end of the course.
The children who attend these sessions are taught as to how they can develop a positive attitude towards life and how they can make useful contributions to the society. These programmes are chalked out in such a manner that it can help to brighten the future of these slum kids and make them pursue a respectable career. The programme does show promise of making a huge difference to the lives of these kids. At the end of the course these kids are in a position to know about right behaviours, positive attitudes and constructive ways of looking at life.
This programme has been getting good response since the trainers are very professionals who are able to guide in a way that suit the youngsters who attend the programme. Also the youngsters who reside in slums are found to be very keen in attending this course which they know can change their lives. Thus this is a great initiative taken by city police to discipline the slum kids and help them lead a quality life.
