Branch hopeful of achieving major break through: Sandhya murder case
By Dinesh Kamath
NAVI MUMBAI: Mumbai Crime Branch are desperately
trying to achieve a break-through in Sandhya murder case. While questioning
Sandhya Singh’s husband, Jaiprakash, who is the Central Excise Commissioner of Indore they found that he
was not aware whether his wife owned any flat at Taloja area of Navi Mumbai.
It was assistant police inspector Anil Behrani of NRI police
station in Nerul who while being interrogated by Mumbai Crime Branch revealed
that Sandhya Singh had taken him to her flat at Taloja since he wanted it on
rent.
But Jaiprakash was totally unaware about the Taloja flat and he
had come to know about it only through media reports. He doesn’t rule out the
possibility of his wife having purchased the flat while he was away in Indore . He urged the
police to search the flat thoroughly.
The Mumbai crime branch claims to have got concrete leads in
this case. They feel that there could have been four probable motives behind
the murder.
The crime branch found Behrani's cell number in Sandhya's call
detail report (CDR). Crime branch officials, after questioning Behrani,
summoned his friends who were in touch with Singh. Around 5-6 calls were
exchanged between Behrani and Singh, a day before she went missing. One
conversation lasted for 25 minutes. The Crime Branch is trying to analyse their
conversation on the phone.
Thus it appears that the Crime Branch might enjoy a major break
through in this murder case in the near future.
